SAS Analyst Location - San Jose, CA Duration - 6 months+ Need Local to CA Required In-Person Interview Job Responsibilities Primary Job Responsibilities are to design, develop and maintain predictive statistical models used for risk management. This role also offers a unique opportunity to innovate and improve on ways to use eBay Inc. wide and external data to solve business problems. . Designing, developing and managing real-time risk/fraud models. . Applying statistical modeling techniques to predict and manage risk associated with online payment products. Designing models to combat credit card fraud, bank account fraud, seller fraud etc. . Preparing and extracting data from large databases. . Analyzing data covering a wide range of information from user profile, network links and transaction history. Identifying new fraud patterns through data mining. . For each modeling project, designing its best structure and selecting the most appropriate modeling technique which may include a combination of several modeling techniques like logistic regression, decision tree and neural networks. . Analyzing model performance and communicating model design and performance results to senior management. . Working with product managers and engineering in deploying models. Job Requirements (Knowledge, skills, abilities, experience required to perform job) . M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research or other quantitative, engineering area is preferred. . At least 1 year of experience in statistical data analysis and predictive modeling using SAS or similar statistical tools . Experience in analyzing massive and highly complex data sets, performing ad-hoc analysis and data manipulation . A passion for excellence in analytics . A can-do attitude to carry out a project from design to production on a timely basis . Great communication skills, strong project management skills and teamwork, and superb attention to details .
