Job Description - Financial Engineer (Tester) Location: Washington DC Duration: 6+ months Rate: DOE/HR HAMP- MUST BE US CITIZEN OR GREENCARD ONLY. *Financial Engineer (Tester) POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES This position reports to the Director, Quality Assurance and Test, in the Analytics, Finance & Controls department. The Financial Engineer is part of a team that tests applications that are used corporate wide to price and analyze credit risk. The Financial Engineer will be an integral part in the success of the group. Specifically s/he will be responsible for • Testing complex analytical software developed by the Business, Analytics and Decisions division • Validating new credit analytics models and new credit risk management methodologies • Working independently to develop high-level and detailed test plans based on requirements. Test Planning, involving analyzing and understanding requirements and software implementation from a variety of sources ranging from formal documents to communications from Business User and Software Development partners. • Ensure that the corporate System Development Life Cycle is being adhered to in all applications under this team • Other duties as assigned PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS • Advanced knowledge of software tools, platforms, processes, and languages such as C++, Java, and UNIX/Perl shell scripting is highly desirable • SAS, SQL, ORACLE experience is desirable • An advanced degree in a quantitative field, such as economics, finance, applied mathematics, statistics or computer science or an equivalent combination of education and /or experience • Experience in business and financial applications in secondary mortgage market highly desirable • Exposure to the full software life-cycle and testing is a plus • Experience with Rational CQ and CC is desirable • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel VBA is desirable • Knowledge of XML, XML Schema is a plus • Familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley, Mortgage business, Credit Risk Management • Strong written and oral communication skills are essential SUCCESS QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to learn new skills and tasks quickly and efficiently • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and research skills as well as the ability to conceptualize more complex issues and develop complex processes, procedures or solutions • Champions teamwork to achieve organizational objectives with, and through, others • Proven ability to influence behaviors which reflect department and corporate values* Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
