Position: *Windows Engineer*

Location: *Livingston, NJ*

Duration: *6 Months*





*Job Description:       *

            This is a senior-level position on CIT’s Server Engineering
Team, which provides 3rd level support of CIT’s Windows servers primarily in
the Livingston corporate Data Center. The candidate will be responsible for
administering CIT’s corporate Windows / VMware server farm and providing
Subject Matter Expertise to include the following:



• Perform Level 3 (L3) Windows Server, Active Directory, and VMware system
administration.

• Ensure the operational reliability and effectiveness of the enterprise
Windows and VMware server infrastructure.

• Work to constantly improve service offerings, service
availability/performance, and overall customer experience.

• Project plan preparation and administration, adherence to committed
deliverables, and regular communication of progress to management.

• Implement technology solutions to optimize the global information delivery
process to CIT colleagues worldwide.

• Monitor infrastructure performance, anticipating and proactively
responding to capacity, recovery, and business continuance issues.

• Engineer, re-engineer, and improve STS processes.

• Recommend, develop, and improve policies, procedures and standards
relevant to the technology infrastructure.

• Mentor peers and customers on new technologies.

• Closely adhere to CIT’s Service Desk, Change Management, and Security
policies and procedures.

• Interface with the Auditors and Information Security to address any CIT
Windows server compliance issues.

• Participate in the periodic execution of the business continuance plan,
including coordination, after-hours attendance, and documentation updates.

• On-call rotation schedule for after-hours support.

• Build relationships, and communicate events and features/enhancements to
CIT stakeholders.

• On-going review of systems design; work with team to constantly improve
service offerings, service “up time” and the overall customer experience;

• Keep current on technologies being supported.



*This candidate should possess the following: *



• Minimum 5+ years experience in managing complex/enterprise IT
environments.

• Experience working for financial services or banking organizations is a
plus.

• Operating system experience (required): Windows Server 2003, VMware
ESX/VSphere.

• Operating system experience (nice to have): Windows 2008, Red Hat
Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Solaris, HP-UX.

• Hardware experience: Dell PowerEdge.

• Packaged Software experience (required): Microsoft Office, Microsoft
Project, and Microsoft Visio.

• Packaged Software experience (nice to have): NetBackup, Exchange, SQL
Server, Nagios, Symantec Antivirus

• Solid understanding of Active Directory and Windows Networking (DNS, DHCP,
WINS).

• Exposure to Windows cluster and load-balancing solutions.

• Strong server scripting skills (VBscript, CMD, Perl, SQL).

• Solid IIS 6.0 experience, including support and security lockdown of IIS
protocols.

• Networking experience: Ethernet, TCP/IP.

• Storage experience: EMC and/or NetApp.

• Strong engineering capabilities including requirements and impact analysis


• Excellent customer service skills.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Strong process documentation skills.

• Ability to manage detailed tasks efficiently and effectively.

• Intermediate project management skills.

• Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and permanent problem
resolution skills.

• Demonstrated engineering skills discovering and implementing new

• Experience with operating system security and compliance activities.

• Solid system performance tuning and notification.

• Work independently and in a team environment (same team and
cross-functional teams).

• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

• Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.

• High school diploma/GED equivalent. College degree a definite plus.
Microsoft certification is a plus.

• Experience performing formal product evaluations.

• Ability to work after normal business hours and on weekends as
required.








Position: *Unix Engineer*

Location: *Livingston, NJ*

            This is a senior-Level Position on CIT’s Server Engineering
team, which provides 3rd level support of CIT’s UNIX / Linux servers
primarily in the Livingston corporate Data Center. Although some support for
field sites is required from time to time. The candidate will be responsible
for administering CIT’s corporate UNIX server farm and providing Subject
Matter Expertise to include the following:



• Perform Level 3 (L3) UNIX / Linux system administration.

• Ensure the operational reliability and effectiveness of the enterprise
UNIX / Linux server infrastructure.

• Perform problem determination and resolution of infrastructure-related
interruptions utilizing internal and external resources as appropriate.

• Work to constantly improve service offerings, service
availability/performance, and overall customer experience.

• Project plan preparation and administration, adherence to committed
deliverables, and regular communication of progress to management.

• Implement technology solutions to optimize the global information delivery
process to CIT colleagues worldwide.

• Monitor infrastructure performance, anticipating and proactively
responding to capacity, recovery, and business continuance issues.

• Recommend and maintain policies, procedures and standards relevant to the
technology infrastructure.

• Operating system experience (required): HP-UX, Solaris, and Linux (RHEL).

• Hardware experience: HP 9000 (PA-RISC), HP Integrity (Itanium), and SUN
SPARC based UNIX servers and peripherals.

• Packaged Software experience (required):  NetBackup, Oracle, Microsoft
Office, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Visio.

• Packaged Software experience (nice to have): Sybase, HP OpenView, Nagios,
and Symark BeyondTrust tools.

• Strong shell or Perl scripting capability.

• Networking experience: Ethernet, TCP/IP.

• Storage experience: EMC (required) and NetApp (a plus).

• Strong engineering capabilities including requirements and impact analysis


• Must be flexible and have the ability to work well within a team.

• Strong customer service skills.

• Intermediate project management skills.
