JAVA DEVELOPER *Description:* The Office of State Budget and Management (OSBM) is seeking a short term (6 month) Java Developer to work on the implementation of a new Budget and Performance Management system. The new system will replace the current mainframe and Oracle systems as well as numerous OSBM and state agency spreadsheet tools, agency-developed and commercial software database tools, and manual processes. This position will support the Budget System Project Team in development and delivery of new front-end web forms based on Java technology. This will be a customized solution utilizing the Seam framework, and will include data persistence elements in Oracle and IBM FileNet. Duties will include but not be limited to: • Providing business analysis and consulting with technical staff, vendors, and end users to understand the requirements for the forms • Working with the technical team to design, develop, test and deploy best-of-breed user interface and back-end data integration for new web forms • Utilizing Seam framework, Hibernate, JQuery and custom tags to create solution. *Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements:* REQUIRED: • Ability to follow complex and detailed requirements documents • Ability to work as a part of a team to develop a series of related solutions using the same underlying frameworks, styles, and user interface standards • Extensive background in Java web application development using modern application frameworks (e.g., Seam, Spring, Struts) and object-relational modeling frameworks (Hibernate, iBatis, TopLink) • In-depth knowledge of thin client user interface technology (Javascript, AJAX, CSS). Understanding of relational data modeling • Experience writing complex SQL queries • Experience developing complete end-to-end 3- and 4-tier architecture solutions. • Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year of experience in Java web application development; or equivalent combination of training and experience (All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions) .
