Position: Senior level Oracle DBA for 11g installation and configuration

Duration: 6+ months

Location: Austin, TX



The Texas work will be plus expenses and should take a month, after that we
would prefer all inclusive for 5+ months for the Boston, ma work.



We need a strong Oracle DBA that can perform an 11g and Rac installation and
configuration.  We need an Oracle DBA that know Oracle 11G, RAC experience,
 and understand Information Life Cycle Management (ILM) - which could be
storage tiering related or partitioning related or a data archival project,
experience with databases on Solid State Disk and Performance Tuning a Plus.


·         understanding of EMC storage a plus (VMAX, DMX, or Clariion), 3-5
years experience, good communications, detail oriented, deliverables focus
with ability to hit deadlines, customer interfacing, consulting background
or Fortune1000 experience preferred. Ability to multi-task and work on
several client projects in parallel over various phases.



·         We want someone that has consulting type experience or that can
work autonomously and is good at interfacing with the client.







The Project Scope:

A. 2 node physical 11GR2 RAC installation/configuration on OEL5 x86 64 bit
running on HP EVA 6400 SAN ( 1 database: PROD) B. 2 node virtual 11GR2 RAC
installation/configuration -> VMWare 4.x setting up Oracle RAC on Vmware
using 11GR2 (2 databases: DEV and TEST) C. Setup RMAN backups for all
databases D. Setup OEM and Agent startup on these nodes with basic
monitoring alerts (up/down events, logs, storage/database running low) E.
Point of Failure validation for PROD:

1. Test Database Instance down, users still can get into the database (Both
Nodes) 2. Test Listener Process down, users still can get into the database
(Both Nodes) 3. Test ASM instance down, users still get into the database
(Both nodes) 4. Test NIC down (physical cable unplugged), users still get
into the database 5. Test SAN switch down (cable unplugged for testing
purpose), users still get into the database 6. Test Clusterware failure on
one node, uses still get into the database (Both nodes)



F. Provide Documentation and Walkthrough with the customer. Key URLs and
Login areas with User/Passwords, Install/Config Screenshots with comments
(Documentation with their SQL DBA team members) G. Provide additional SOPs
(Start/Stop process, Backup and Recovery Process, RAC basics architecture
whiteboard and walk-through answering questions from their SQL Server dba
team)



Resource needs to be a self-starter and drive this project on their own as
they will be doing all of the work on their own
