Summary
The Sr. Programmer Analyst's role is to define, develop, test, analyze, and
maintain new and existing software applications in support of business
requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing
software programs and applications. The Sr. Programmer Analyst will also
research, design, document, and modify software specifications
Principle Responsibilities
1. Determines solution approach to client requirements.
2. Creates specifications to address business information requirements;
formulates plan-outlining steps required to develop program following
established standards for design deliverables.
3. Create appropriate design documentation and program logic
documentation as necessary
4. Develops detailed system design specifications to serve as a guide
for system/program development.
5. Analyzes requirements and develops modules with keeping future in
mind.
6. Performs maintenance and enhancement of software components,
documenting modifications
7. Provides guidance and training to less-experienced programmers in
order to improve productivity.
8. Design, run and monitor software performance tests on new and
existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for
improvement, and general debugging.
9. Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with
members of interdisciplinary teams.
10. Writes unit test cases and ensures requirements are met.
Secondary Responsibilities
1. Recommend and perform software improvements and upgrades
2. Provide guidance to junior team members
3. On call availability for system support
4. Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new
technologies.
Key Relationships
* Able to communicate effectively with non-technical staff and with
members of interdisciplinary teams.
Experience
* In depth technical work experience in a software development
environment that required advanced .NET-based programming on web or
client/server applications, working independently and in a team-based
environment.
* Familiar with Customer Information / Billing System.
Primary Skills
* In-depth knowledge of C# .NET 2.0 / 3.5
* Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server or Oracle).
* Ability to work independently without high degree of supervision.
* Ability to work as a team player.
* Ability to make decisions using critical reasoning.
* Ability to perform object oriented analysis and design.
* Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
* Excellent verbal and communication skills.
* Experience with Utilities or Telecom business domains
Secondary Skills
* Prior experience deregulated energy markets
* Exceptional customer service approach to work with internal and
external customers
* Web application development with Java technology
Education
* Bachelors degree in computer science, computer applications or
related discipline
Additional
* Must be able to work overtime if needed (evenings and weekends)
