*Location*: Westchester, NY *Duration*: 6 Months MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / RESULTS • Hands-on technical role with the suitable candidate able to undertake projects and tasks independently. • Responsible for installing, upgrading, and managing all SQL Server database instances across the Navigators enterprise. • Responsible for developing, implementing, and testing backup and recovery plans for all production SQL Server databases. • Gain a comprehensive understanding of Navigators’ IT Application and Infrastructure environments and their dependencies on the SQL Server platform. • Collaboration with IT managers and Application staff on the conceptual design for database environments to support new and existing application development initiatives. • Communicating regularly with Infrastructure and Applications staffs to ensure the database environment integrity, security, and best practices. • Responsible for security model that SQL Server uses, and how to use it effectively to control access to corporate data. The three basic security tasks are authentication (setting up user accounts to control logins to the database), authorization (setting permissions on various parts of the database), and auditing (tracking who did what within the database). • Proactive monitoring and tuning of SQL Server database environment to maximize performance. • Responsible for watching growth trends to advise IT management on long-term capacity plans. • Responsible for technical troubleshooting of enterprise SQL Server database environment. *REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS * • Experience implementing, supporting, and managing Microsoft SQL Server database platform (versions 2000, 2005, 2008) in a corporate environment • Experience utilizing database utilities and third party tools to support management of enterprise SQL Server database environment • Experience with Windows 2003/2008 Server platform • Experience in technologies such as online backups, clustering, replication, and standby databases to ensure high database availability • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory administration • 8 + years of technical IT experience • 3+ years of team leadership / project management experience • 3+ years of technology experience in the insurance industry RELATED NON-FLEXIBLE OR OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS • Excellent written and oral communications skills. • Hands-on experience with MS Project Thanks N' Regards, Vikram M** Revosys IT Inc.** 108-31, 47th Avenue, Corona, NY 11363 Ph: 347 468 7163 | Fax: 347 649 2053 [email protected] | www.revosysIT.com -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP ABAP" group.
