Rate is 55.00-some flexibility Really need a local on this, they require an in person interview The City of Minneapolis Business Information Services Department is soliciting proposals from qualified companies familiar with Cognos Application Development and Support Services. 1. Scope of Services In general, the successful proposer shall provide resources to perform Cognos Application Development and Support Services as a Contractor for the City. A more detailed list of service needs is outlined below in Section 2. 2. Specific Tasks *2.1 **Cognos Administrator (Contractor)* * * 2.1.1 Service Needs * * Cognos application development and support services which includes Business Intelligence Module and Planning Module expertise, both framework and cube development. Administer Cognos 8.4 BI and Cognos 8.4 Planning in a multi-server environment. Support users in developing Cognos content such as reports, queries and planning applications. Administer, design and develop city-wide reports and Business Intelligence initiatives using our enterprise reporting environment of Cognos 8.4. 2.1.2 Primary Responsibilities * * · Verify and translate functional and non-functional requirements to create system designs, estimate software project efforts, define project scopes and articulate software solution alternatives. · Data modeling within the confines of the Cognos framework manager. ** · Assist user in the development of new Cognos content.** · Develop, and maintain Data feeds/Metadata required for Data Sharing/ Integration Services for Enterprise data with in the confines of Cognos.** · Perform daily activities of administrative maintenance of our Cognos 8.4 environments.** · Design, model and create specification documents for building and/or configuring multi-tier, client server or internet applications, integration middleware, scripts, triggers and other software products or components. · Design, model and create specification documents to integrate systems into the City’s enterprise environments. · Define project tasks, monitor progress, plan and conduct appropriate milestone reviews and walkthroughs. · Research and analyze business goals, user requirements and other relevant factors to develop and document data requirements, data flows and entity relationships. · Interview/observe and otherwise analyze user goals, profiles, tasks, workflows to capture and document functional requirements and usability goals for system solutions. · Create test plans for all phases of software testing: unit test, integration, system and acceptance testing. · Analyze, diagnose and prescribe corrective action for application outages, performance impairments, data errors and other problems with deployed applications. ** · Contribute to the development of user instructional materials and training curricula; assist in the delivery of training as needed.** 2.1.3 Requirements · Minimum 3 years experience with the Cognos 8 Suite: Framework Manager, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, and Planning modules. · Willingness to work in a team environment and coordinate with other members of the Business Information Services team. · Ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment. · Ability to quickly learn new concepts. 2.1.4 Experience · Installing, configuring, administering and maintaining Cognos server in Development, Test & Quality Assurance and Production environments. · Strong knowledge of Cognos Reporting environment · Reports writing, design, troubleshooting · Experience with Cognos Planning and BI module · Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL · Microsoft SQL Server and DTMS · Knowledge of .asp Programming: · IIS web server administration (as related to an application like Cognos only) · Data warehouse, Operational Data Stores and Data access methods · Preferred knowledge of Cognos PowerPlay and Cognos metrics manager -- Regards, Shankar 248-522-6879 Technology consultanst inc -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP ABAP" group.
