Position: Senior Software Engineer -- Java Description This position requires an experienced engineer capable of making significant contributions throughout the software development lifecycle. As a hands-on developer for one or more the company’s core software products, the *Senior Software Engineer* will participate in all tasks related to requirements gathering, risk analysis, unit testing, and software implementation. The *Senior Software Engineer* *Java* position requires experience in commercial web application development in n-tiered environments using Java, Java Script, JQuery, XML, XQuery. Efforts will be focused on extending the RSuite plug-ins and user interface that are integrated in the MarkLogic Content Management System. In addition to technical proficiency, strong communication and interpersonal skills are required, as this person will work in a highly collaborative environment. The *Senior Software Engineer Java* will interact with many teams throughout the organization, mentor less experienced team members, and participate in continual investigation of process improvement strategies. Working conditions include normal office environment with heavy computer use. Candidates must be able to sit for long periods at a time. Some extended hours or weekend work may be required along with some travel. Required Skills/Experience · BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience · 7+ years experience in commercial web development and Windows software development · Develops Java classes that are part of RSuite plugins · Develops XQuery for reports or other functions · Develops workflows to model business processes and write Java to enable automation in the course of those business processes · Extends the RSuite user interface with typical web development standards (Javascript/jquery/JSP) · Desirable to have familiarity with the RSuite API and customization methods · Helpful if familiar with working in a Java IDE like Eclipse and with Ant · Interest in collaborative environments and development methodology · Strong working knowledge of object-oriented programming, development best practices, design patterns, verification test frameworks,and software business fundamentals · Excellent written and verbal communication skills Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
