*Location*: NYC *Duration*: 6 months I have a financial client in NYC who need to hire a solid Java Developer. This is a very flexible role – the manager is willing to consider hiring someone on a contract, try-buy or just straight full-time. His preference would initially be for a consultant, but for a great candidate he’d be open to a perm hire too. They’d like someone with solid Java/Javascript, ideally some Swing, experience with enterprise level apps... high volume/frequency experience would be great too. I am enclosing a spec for you to review (below my signature) but here is some extra info on the role that may help you decide whether or not this would be a fit for you... The candidate does not need to have financial background, it is preferable but will consider candidates without. Should have 5-10 years of experience but will look at less. Not interested in those with more than 10 years. The Technology Group only has 6 developers so this spot gets a good amount of visibility. Position requires interaction with the Business Analysts as well as the QA’s. The project is being developed for over a year so there is not much new architecture. The developers move between projects and products. This spot will afford the candidate the opportunity to learn Fixed Income from all asset classes. The right candidate will be able to see the big picture. Should have a deep fundamental understanding of technology. Capable of working through all phases of the project life cycle with a primary focus on design, coding and unit/integration testing. Ability to interface with business partners to drive business requirements is a plus.
