*Position Summary*
This position is responsible for the administration of Client's IT Unix and
Linux compute infrastructure. This person will be working closely with
Global application teams, Project management team, DBA's and storage
administrators. The position is at a senior level and requires strong
knowledge of all applicable technologies is required, but a focus needs to
be in AIX operating systems, Redhat Linux, Virtualization technologies
(LPARS), IBM p-series hardware and Veritas technologies (Storage foundation,
SFRAC, CFS etc). This position will require great cross collaboration
teamwork skills to coordinate and support other system administrators,
architects and engineers. To be successful in Adobe's dynamic environment,
qualified candidates must be self-motivated and able to define, plan and
implement long term goals and tasks in support of Client's enterprise and
Information Services departmental strategies and charter. Excellent problem
solving, multitasking, troubleshooting skills and attention to detail are
required for to work in this challenging and dynamic environment.
*Responsibilities *
• Responsible for infrastructure standards which will include OS standards,
system configuration, high availability, and server virtualization
offerings.
• Handle day-to-day problems and service requests related to OS, Server and
Virtualization infrastructure.
• Operations as a 3rd Level Escalation, perform Root Cause Analysis and
continuous improvement, and act as an escalation point for Level 1 & 2
support teams.
• Develop and follow the existing OS, HA, server hardware and virtualization
practices (LPARS,VIO) and standards.
• Perform Capacity and configuration management of Server and Virtualization
infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for the servers and IT
infrastructure.
• Participate in 7x24 on-call rotation and maintenance windows.
• Complete appropriate validation paperwork as required with minimal
deviations or discrepancies .

*Requirements *
• BS in computer Management of Information Systems, or Computer Science with
a minimum of 6-8 years of hands on system administration experience with all
aspects of AIX 6.1/5.2, Redhat.
• Linux, Solaris administration platforms, Virtualization technologies
(vmware, LPARS,VIO servers, zones) and VERITAS technologies (Storage
foundation, VCS, SFRAC, CFS etc).
• 3-5 years of experience working with IBM P-Series servers is must
(Management of HMC, COD, VIO servers, creating LPAR's, etc).
• Performance tuning of AIX 6.1/5.3 OS and experience in setting up NIM
server and management of NIM server.
• In-depth knowledge of AIX 6.1/5.3, Installation and configuration of VIO &
LPARS, AIX LVM.
• Redhat Linux, Solaris and ZFS, Veritas VCS, SFRAC, CFS, Storage Foundation
and managing systems within SOX compliance environments.
• Competency in storage provisioning and installation including strong
understanding of system performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Experience managing Oracle databases on IBM AIX platform is desired.
Experience in managing application and web servers in a highly
virtualization environment is essential for this position.
• In-depth knowledge of networking concepts and server deployments on AIX,
Linux and Solaris platforms, understanding of SAN storage, and Veritas VCS
high availability is a must.
• Knowledge of vmware ESX (Vsphere 4.x is preferred) and hands on experience
with working on provision of VM's, Vmotion and Vswitch technologies is a
plus.
• Experience with System management tools (Capacity management,
Configuration management, Automation etc) and knowledge of shell and/or Perl
scripting is a plus..
• Good communication and customer service skills. Ideal candidate is
expected to be strong in the areas of self-motivation, initiative, and
communication and has a proven ability to synergize and effectively work
with other teams.
• Familiarity/knowledge of ITIL V3 service offerings are a plus
