The successful candidate will have excellent logic and problem solving
skills and a drive to make a difference; creative, resourceful and
innovative at tackling complex challenges in a timely matter.
The Business Analyst will be working closely with most teams within Claims
IT to ensure the delivery of high-performance claims business applications.
Responsibilities include requirements elicitation, analysis, logical design,
documentation, testing and support of n-tier business applications.
The role requires effective interaction as a team player on large,
cross-team initiatives.

- Proficiency in applications development, logical design, and
software/data design
- Manages cross-functional teams tasked with solving business issues.
Identifies detailed requirements from business users through interviews,
documentation and facilitated working sessions for approved projects and
enhancements. Leads team in analyzing the information and prioritizing the
requirements to gain understanding of the business needs and to provide
recommended solutions.
- Acts as internal resource for the consultation to the business to
provide expertise and possible solutions to resolve business needs.
- *Participates in strategic customer meetings to review, propose and /
or evaluate new business opportunities that are designed to improve customer
relationships, operating efficiencies and/or add business benefits.*
- Knowledge and hands-on experience utilizing UML tools in creating Use
Cases, Class and Sequence Diagrams based on the product design
documentation.
- Manages work plans, timelines and budgets. Evaluates relative feedback
*and ROI* to effectively prioritize projects. Evaluates project impact
through consultation with the business, IT management, regulatory, IT
development, quality assurance, validation, and training teams. Partners
with stakeholders and Business Enterprise Liaisons (BELs) to identify
necessary department resources to meet defined objectives.
- Creates process models based on business requirements in order to
determine the completeness of the information and process components.
- Develops detailed design specifications for projects and enhancements.
- *Designs and develops test plans (e.g. test objectives, test cases,
test data and test scripts) for executing unit, integration, system or
acceptance testing in order to ensure the solution meets the business
requirements. Manages user acceptance testing with the business users.*
- Performs system configuration and integration testing including the
functionality, performance and fit to ensure original requirements are met
and defined constraints are worked within.
- Manages necessary business changes/additions to the applications or
integrated third party system after testing is complete.
- Performs required documentation according to corporate standards and IT
Best Practices and Operations Manuals.
- Develops, maintains and provides technical expertise in order to
transfer knowledge, and delivers knowledge transfer to appropriate personnel
for skill development.
- General understanding of Development Models and Architecture
- Knowledge of the software development lifecycle and standards
- Ability to work as a team member with limited supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Knowledge and hands-on application development and database
technologies and report writing tools and technologies, such as Crystal
Reports, in order to interpret and translate user requirements into a report
design for meeting business informational needs and metrics.
- Experience with current technology trends and tools (eg. ASP.Net,
VB.Net, ASP, JavaScript)
- Experience with HTML, SQL Server programming, Crystal & Business
Objects reporting is a plus
- Demonstrated skills in working with 3rd party vendors
- Proven success working on projects spanning multiple departments and
business units
*Education:*
- Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited college or
university, and seven (7) to ten (10) years enterprise system experience,
with some experience at a management level; or an equivalent combination of
education and experience.
*Qualifications:*
- Must have a working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle
(SDLC) methodologies
- Familiarity with user support as well as software troubleshooting
skills and techniques
- Ability to understand and learn new systems and application platforms
as this is an evolving role
- Siebel knowledge a plus
- Insurance Industry knowledge a plus

*Position: *Data Analyst**
*Location: *Simi Valley, CA**
*Duration: *9 Months**

*Job Requirements:*
*Mandatory Expectations:*
- Understand and document business processes, data entities, data
producers and consumers and the data dependencies between various
departments.
- Confer with business and technical partners, perform data analysis and
data profiling, identify data quality issues, develop data model,
Source-to-Target mapping specifications, document enterprise data
repositories, and repository relationships.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and participate in design reviews.
- Develop and maintain data dictionary.
- Assess data extraction, report generation, and defects appearing in
operations involving the data warehouse.
- Architect, design, and develop enterprise data warehouse components
including databases and ETL using Informatica.
- Architect, design, and develop operational databases required for BI
applications.
- Offer strong data analysis skills and experience with metadata
management.
- Other tasks may include: data mining & data profiling analysis, ad-hoc
analysis, and researching data issues with business partners
*Education:*
- 4-year Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields with 5
years of software development experience
*Qualifications: *
- Exceptionally good verbal and written communication skills, and be
comfortable dealing with all levels of management when explaining business
results and variances
- 3 years of data warehouse or enterprise database experience
- Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL languages
- 2 years of experience creating software documentation for business or
technology consumers and professional experience conducting requirement
analysis
- At least 1 year of software engineering experience in insurance
industries and Business Intelligence experience is preferred
- Provide technical writing skills, knowledge of principles, techniques,
and best practices of enterprise data warehouse
- Must have experience with data warehouse development including ETL
using Informatica
- Experience with OBIEE or other OLAP tools is required
- Experience with EssBase or other MOLAP tools is a big plus**
- Experience working with CRM systems (e.g., Siebel) is a plus**
- Extensive experience with data/transfers/sharing using flat files, DB
links**
- Experience with Informatica or other ETL tools a plus**
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple simultaneous projects
