Albany NY position.s There are 2 left. Most likely will have a start of mid May. We have booked one person on this team and they need 2 more . experienced GIS Developers to design, develop, implement and maintain desktop and web based GIS applications. The candidate must have experience and expertise customizing ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server (versions 9.x and 10)using Microsoft Visual Studio. This experience should include work in enterprise implementations with distributed system architecture. The candidate must have excellent communication and analytical skills and be able to work with team members and stakeholders to gather, define and document business and technical requirements for GIS systems or components. The candidate must possess the ability to work independently and as a team member, and have strong organizational and time-management skills. The candidate will preferably have demonstrated work experience with transportation agencies and an understanding of transportation topics including linear referencing systems, accident analysis, network navigation and asset management. The primary tasks for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: - Migrate existing .NET applications from ArcGIS Server 9.x to ArcGIS Server 10 - Convert existing .NET web applications to the Microsoft Silverlight development platform - Develop and implement applications for ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Server 10. - Assist IT/GIS staff with the migration the current ArcGIS 9.3 platform to ArcGIS 10. - Work with key program area stakeholders to understand the business requirements for new/redesigned systems. - Collaborate with the IT and program area leads to translate program area requirements into technology requirements and recommend viable technical options. - Act as a Mentor in developing the skills and expertise of other IT developers on the team by performing code reviews and suggesting changes that will best fit the Program and Agency needs.
