Title : Cognos/BI consultant Location : Downtown Chicago, IL Duration : 6 -12 months Job Description: • 9+ years of overall IT experience and 6+ years of experience using Cognos BI tools to design and develop Business Intelligence solutions in Data Warehousing and Transactional systems, including 3+ years of strong hands-on experience in Cognos version 8.x BI Suite on a Windows/ AIX platform. • Cognos 8 BI Report Development, Administration and Data Modeling certification desired. • Proficient with Cognos 8 Report/Query/Analysis Studios and advanced functions. Solid experience with Enterprise Reporting for OLAP and OLTP applications. • Proficient in developing enterprise-quality analytical and operational reports (List, Crosstab, Nested Crosstabs, Charts, Drill- through/up/down, Master/Detail and Multilingual.) • Solid working experience with standards-based development & programming languages and techniques, including SQL, PL/SQL, HTML and Java/JavaScript. XML, SOAP/WebServices and WSDL experience a plus. • Experience configuring Cognos to connect to a diverse data source systems like SAP/R3, Oracle, WebSphere/J2EE and PeopleSoft. • Solid knowledge and understanding of BI life cycle solutions, including ETL process development, Database/Data Warehouse design, OLAP and analytical tool deployment. • Good working knowledge with relational databases, specifically Oracle 11g/10g/9i and SQL Server. MS Access experiences a plus. • Good Working knowledge of non-Cognos data modeling and database development tools like ERWin and TOAD. • Experience in SAP R/3 a plus: exposure to BAPIs, RFCs and IDOCs. • Project management skills and formal system development life cycle methodology experience needed. • Exposure to Agile Software Development Methodology a plus. • Must demonstrate a strong customer focus and communication skills, a sense of urgency, and a win-win approach to meeting business requirements and resolving problems. • Asset leasing industry experiences a plus, specifically in the Rail sector. • Customer focused with the ability to build positive relationships with IT and business partners • Proven track record around rapid development of business process understanding and acumen • Ability to make sound decisions with limited information Regards Thank you Chris B Email ID - [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "SAP ABAP" group.
