*Position:* Java/Swing developer *Location:* Downtown Manhattan, NY *Duration:* 1 Year *General Summary:* The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing JavaEE software solutions – both *Swing-based* user interfaces as well as *EJB-based business* logic and data-access components. The candidate will be capable of proposing and documenting software design, analyzing requirements, and presenting implementation options through the use of design diagrams and wireframes. The candidate will be responsible for hands-on development and promoting best practices for both object-oriented as well as user-interface design and development. The candidate should understand the full *software development lifecycle (SDLC),* be capable of analyzing requirements, be detail-oriented, embrace development best practices, and communicate clearly and effectively with peers, project management, and supervisors. The candidate must have the ability and desire to evaluate technologies for their relevance to the problem domain, learn to work with the technologies, and instruct team members in using the technologies. *Key Responsibilities:* The chosen candidate will help make design and implementation decisions for a system that will replace disparate legacy applications. The candidate will review design decisions for extensibility, testability, and maintainability. He or she will be required to design and develop reliable components that support high availability and disaster recovery. The candidate will be required to develop user interfaces with rich features for internal applications, delivered using a thick client framework.
