Scope of the project: The programmer in this position will help the research services team complete calculations for federal average yearly progress (AYP) for all public schools in SC. The tasks will be to analyze the data submitted by school; calculate AYP ratings based on federal guidelines; build the results file that will be provided to appropriate agency staff to complete AYP reporting; thoroughly document all steps in the AYP analysis and calculation process and all SAS programs written or modified. This programmer must be able to work with limited supervision; to analyze the programming requirements; to code, test, and execute SAS programs to calculate AYP. Daily duties: The consultant using SAS will analyze student data to meet AYP requirements; document all SAS program modified or written; build results files based on AYP guidelines; prepare results files to be passed along to reporting team. Write standalone manual that will describe all procedures used to produce the final AYP files.
