Position-Emc Sr storage Ops

The customer is refreshing their EMC storage environment to 3 new VMAX
arrays. The current
environment consists of 5 DMX systems and
about 5 CX700 systems. Architecture of the new VMAX’s is
complete and EMC has collected host grabs
to identify host remediation required for migrating to the new
environment.
The customer has two VMAX systems in their
production SAN and one VMAX system in their Dev-Test SAN
which consists of fabrics of Brocade DCX
and 48000 directors. They have a mixture of HP/UX, Sun Solaris,
ESX 3.5/4.0, and Windows 2008 hosts that
they will be migrating to the new VMAX systems. There are
350-400 physical hosts and have migrated a
small portion of them in the Dev-Test environment.
Their plan is to reduce the number of mount
points on the servers so they will be creating larger luns on
the VMAX than on the DMX systems. This
means that they will use host based tools and will copy multiple
existing mount points to each new mount
point. The customer will have to start paying maintenance on the
old equipment starting July 1st and want
to migrate as much as possible to reduce any costs associated
with maintenance on the old systems. They
are looking for an implementation specialist that has strong
Brocade SAN and VMAX implementation skills
to help their storage administrator with the migrations and
migration planning.
