Implements data models and database designs, data access and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues. * * *PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* 1. Develop and implement a database that addresses current and future business needs 2. Develops and implements complex data models and logical database designs 3. Designs, constructs and implements physical databases 4. Develops, revises and implements policies, standards, procedures and guidelines necessary to effectively administer the database environment 5. Plans and conducts structured testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance 6. Develops and implements plans to oversee the data and database administration function, and ensures smooth transition to new technology 7. Performs routine and customary operational and monitoring activities to ensure the database environment is stable and capable of meeting ongoing business needs 8. Plans and executes testing and implementation of major systems 9. Evaluates technology and techniques to implement and maintain databases and database environment 10. Develops, implements and tests backup and recovery plans 11. Completes other duties as required, including, but not limited to: - Coming to work and being punctual - Interacting with fellow employees and/or customers as needed to get the job done - Treating fellow employees and / or customers with respect - Ability to take the stress of the position (for example, deadline pressures) * * *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED* • B.A. in Business of Information Systems, MBA preferred • 3-5 years related work experience in Information Systems • 2-3 years experience with database technology • Knowledge and experience with relational and conventional database technology, data modeling concepts, tools and techniques, and general business operations • Knowledge and familiarity with front end and query tools, backup and recovery strategies, and performance and tuning techniques • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) • Extensive knowledge of products and needs * * *WORKING CONDITIONS* Normal banking environment.
