Unix platform and Oracle DB skills are nice to have but not primary focus. Not looking for a data architect or someone with data integration or project management skills. Very focused and in-depth experience in tuning of large scale databases, with deep knowledge on trouble shooting database performance issues. * * *Position Duties:* Oversee all aspects of database technical administration and operations, including availability, monitoring and performance of data objects (data marts and stores in support of large scale systems and OLTP environments). Build high-volume relational databases for corporate wide applications and systems. Identifies data sources from design requirements, transforms design from logical model to physical implementation, constructs entity relationship diagrams, data dictionaries and process documents and implements schema change requests. Conducts performance tuning and writes code for database access, modifications, and construction including stored procedures, views and triggers. Supports MSSQL database platforms and helps define strategies for data acquisition, recovery, migration and archiving. Adhere to data, security and systems standards. Assist is data migrations, capacity planning and data recoverability activities. Develop or adhere to data storage and recovery procedures. Help system implementation teams with validating database designs and provide production support. *Candidate Requirements*: 10-12 years of relevant MS SQL database experience in a large company and with large scale data environment background. Preferably someone with experience with managing databases (database consolidation and administrative support) in merger integration scenario. BS in computer science or equivalent. Demonstrated proficiency in SQL Server data admin (Microsoft Certified Master certification on MS SQL Server required). Multi-generational MS SQL production support experience (MS SQL 2000/2005/2008) in a transaction intensive, high-availability clustered environment preferred. Aspiring or current SQL Server gurus will be a great fit. Should have excellent problem solving and analytical skills as well as outstanding oral and written communications skills.
