Location     :   Alexandria, VA (Local to DC/VA/MD Only)
Duration    :   6 Months
Rate             :   $45/Hr*

Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates SHRM business systems and client needs.
Implements back office and web based systems and procedures to parallel
overall business strategies.  Documents systems and procedures and provides
client training and support.
Manages and maintains SHRM systems to ensure security, availability,
accuracy, efficiency and integrity. Makes recommendations
concerning the use of back office and web based systems for special projects
and informational requirements. Maintains current knowledge of technical
concepts and SHRM business operations and goals in order to guide management
decisions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned.
·  Provides first-class customer and client support on all matters related
to Technology services including rotating help desk support and in-depth
support of specified back-office and web based systems, processes and/or
departments.  Possesses general knowledge of SHRM systems and business
processes and expert knowledge of a specified subset of systems and
processes.
· Works directly with the client and Technology Division community to
identify, define and investigate process and/or changes that
facilitate the support of the organization’s business through the effective
use of information technology. Writes detailed descriptions of
client needs, program functions, and steps required to develop, implement,
or modify back-office and web based systems or processes.
· Works with internal and external technical resources to implement approved
changes.  May lead the selection of vendors and/or systems.
Supervises back-office and web based system modifications to satisfy
existing and planned client requirements in support of critical
business objectives.
· Works closely with clients and Technology Division staff to maintain the
quality of SHRM data.  Uses all available sources of information and creates
queries as needed to identify system or procedural problems. Identifies,
corrects, and documents deficiencies to minimize reoccurrence of problems.
· Collaborates with other analysts and Technology Division staff to ensure
system and procedural changes have the minimum impact on other back-office
and web based systems.
· Provides guidance to others in the use of assigned systems including
training, client support, instructing and supporting other Technology
Division staff, and client procedure development.  Proposes expanded or
improved uses of back office and web based systems and
technology.  Leads and participates in SHRM internal client groups and
committees.
·  Contributes to Technology Division documentation on the contents and
usage of systems. Documentation may include user manuals, user process maps,
data dictionaries, data flow diagrams, and systems related information.
· Monitors maintenance contracts, upgrades and service packs for specified
systems.  Manages the installation of upgrades and service
packs in collaboration with Technology Division staff, SHRM business units,
vendors, and other Business Analysts.
·  Manages back-office and web based projects in collaboration with SHRM
business unit stakeholders and staff.  Supports SHRM business units in the
development of project plans and documentation such as business case,
project charter, schedule, change control procedure, and transition plan.
·  Maintains close relationships with vendors and provides a communication
channel between clients and vendors in addition to providing advanced
support and administration for assigned systems.
· Maintains technical proficiency through professional development, user
groups and peer interaction.
· Attends training seminars, workshops and other meetings on behalf of
Global Business Solutions Department.
· Provides SHRM conference support as required.

QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
B.S. degree in computer science or information management systems or
equivalent demonstrated work experience.
Minimum 7 years experience as an information systems analyst performing the
duties listed in this job description.  Some Association
experience preferred.
Minimum 3 years experience managing information system projects.
Good verbal and written skills required.
