*JOB TITLE : Oracle databases under UNIX Location : Deerfield, IL Duration : 4+ months* Required Skills: 7 to 9 or more years extensive DBA experience with Oracle databases under UNIX. (Preferably redhat Linux). Should include experience with Oracle 11g, 10g, 9i, 8i and 7. Extensive experience with ASM, , standby databases (data guard), RMAN, all oracle utilities like db control, oem, imp/exp, impdp/expdp. Experience with Oracle RAC, clusterware, voting disk is plus. Linux Unix utilities including shell scripting, SQL/PLSQL. Full-cycle implementation experience in a High Availability environment. Good Oral and written communication skills.Successful candidate will be part of a DBA team administering Oracle databases pertaining to varied healthcare applications in the context of Data center migration project. Performs advanced areas of work for the professional field. Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently. Displays a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high-impact, complex, and/or cross-functional problems. Knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments. Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization. Demonstrates significant knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues. Skill Sets Required: Database architecture planning/design: Work with lead DBA and team to design migration and implementation approaches. Database configuration: e.g. installation, configuration, upgrade, database copies/migration, operational setup, patch/cpu management. Database connectivity/interfaces: e.g. application schema requirement analysis/implementation, application connectivity setup/maintenance. Import / export. Data pump experience is plus. Performance Tuning: e.g. space monitoring/review, database object reorganization, performance analysis, executing capacity plans, database/query optimization. Security Compliance: e.g. Siemens Infosec measure plan implementation, addressing infosec vulnerability warnings, audit recommendation analysis/remediation. Education: BS in related IT/computer discipline, or advanced degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certifications are highly desirable.
