Title: Web Analyst Location: Santa Clara, CA Duration: 3+ Months contract Summary: The Senior Web Analyst/ Developer is responsible for developing the functional requirements, web applications, associated testing, training, implementation, and support artifacts specific to the web applications portfolio in close collaboration with the business domain and business subject matter experts. The person must be conversant with the industry standard concepts, practices, technologies and procedures in Web Domain. Be able to provide guidance in the emerging web and social media technologies. At the direction of the Application Manager and Web Architect be able to lead the implementation of the City's Web Strategy. Implement, and maintain web-based applications as well intranet SharePoint sites. Define and implement industry standard practices for web technologies per the Customer web strategy plan. Skills (Required): Functional: . Five (5) years hands on experience as a web analyst/developer with 2 years in a lead role. . Knowledge of the web application domain . Innovative self-starter and able to work under minimum supervision . Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills . Detail oriented, able to multi-task and meet deadlines . Experience in gathering user requirements and documentation of formal business requirements and functional specifications Technical: . SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) / SharePoint 2010 Desired . ASP.NET/ASP/AJAX . JavaScript / CSS . HTML/XHTML . IIS6/7 . SQL . XML / XSLT . Proficiency in Visual Studio . Web application development Degree: Bachelor's degree or higher in CS, CIS, MIS or equivalent 5+ years of experience in a related field. Responsibilities: Act as the Web Team lead reporting the Applications Manager onsite. Work effectively with Application Manager and the client Web Manager in planning work activities for the web practice team. Work with the Web Architect in the implementation and support of the City's Web Strategy. Proactively provide thought leadership and solutions for the improvement of the client websites. Customer Interface . Act as a liaison between the Customer and any third party vendors. . Build strong and trusted relationships with Customer stakeholders in order to be viewed as a web thought leader across the organization. . Communicate challenges and opportunities proactively and consistently to drive business performance. Communication . Meet with key stakeholders on a regular basis. . Build a network and proactively maintain contacts to foster professional and personal growth. . Produce timely Incident reports documenting system downtime. . Provide status reports on a regular basis that demonstrate delivery according to service level agreements. Technical . Coordinate the implementation of web-based application suite enhancements with the Customer business units and third party vendors. . Create and track enhancement requests from inception to completion, create test cases for enhancements, and coordinate and conduct user acceptance testing. . Remain abreast of industry trends and applicable technologies such as scripting, security issues, authoring tools, social media and new languages. . Analyze business requirements for the web application suite fixes, fails, and enhancements. Define and document the technical web design as required to meet the web practice objectives for modifications/process enhancements. . Develop and maintain technical and operational procedure and work instruction documentation. . Maintain and administer the web servers. Monitor and troubleshoot websites. . Implement the web applications or enhancements as per the technical design. . Receive Service Requests relating to fixes, fails, and proposed web-based application changes. Perform initial troubleshooting and support identification of root cause of Incidents. Escalate Incidents to third party vendors as required. Follow through on processing Incidents and drive resolution with the relevant third party vendor as appropriate. Security and Safety . Adhere to the standards and requirements set to provide a business-oriented and professional work environment. . Adhere to the Customer's safety standards for the work environment. Personnel . Work with Service Provider management in setting performance objectives and goals on a quarterly basis. . Complete formal performance evaluations with Service Provider management at mid-year and year-end. . Develop annual personal development/ training plan to enhance job performance as well as professional growth. Key Skills (in order of importance) * Customer/ Stakeholder interaction.
