JOB DESCRIPTION:*

Under the supervision of the Director of Enterprise Architecture, with wide
latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and action, the Lead NET
Application Architect/Developer is responsible for leading the development,
execution and adherence to the technical and solution architecture enabling
DOE’s Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) capabilities.  Embedded within the ESB
team and accountable for the conversion of the project requirements into a
solution architecture, based largely upon the strategies, design patterns,
and best practices that have been established by the ESB group, and guided
by the requirements and objectives of the DOE business applications.

*Responsibilities:*

1.        Provide a defining, senior level contribution to development team
responsible for the implementation of critical SOA web-based applications
using the .Net Framework and SQL Server technologies

2.        Collaborate with business stake holders and team members to define
& analyze requirements

3.        Analyze, design, and develop code for all application tiers, as
needed

4.        Prepare technical designs, perform code reviews, debugging and
testing

5.        Define integration approaches to extend existing systems to work
with an ESB Framework

6.        Work in a collaborative development environment, providing
assistance & technical guidance to fellow team members

7.        Accountability for the technical components of the design and
successful operation of the ESB solution within DOE

8.        Document standards and procedures for the definition of reference
architectures

9.        Provide inputs in architecting, designing, and implementing a
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for the application development group

10.        Responsible for the delivery of architecture artifacts that will
demonstrate the projects adherence to strategy, design patterns, and best
practices

11.        Provide detailed guidance and direction for design and
implementation of development frameworks and design patterns for consumption
across multiple development teams

12.        Create, communicate and improve the governing principles,
standards and models that detail DOE technical landscapes by reconciling
various stake holder requirements



*Qualification Requirements:*

1.        Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of applicable work experience
with at least 5+ years of experience as an Sr. Developer or Technical Team
Lead with the Microsoft *.NET Architecture *framework, including *ASP.NET,
C#, VB.NET*

2.        Extensive experience with design patterns, system architectural
concepts and frameworks

3.        Extensive experience designing and/or developing solutions for a
Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)

4.        5+ years of experience with Object Oriented Design and Analysis,
application design patterns.

5.        3+ years of experience with WCF, Web Services, WSDL, Simple Object
Access Protocol (SOAP), XML, XSD, AJAX

6.        5+ years of experience with MS SQL Server, leveraging SQL 2005
features in developing optimized Database code along with development of
SSIS packages

7.        Experience leveraging open source development tools (such as
Subversion, NUnit, CruiseControl.Net, NCover, MSBuild, NAnt, FxCop) a plus

8.        Technical expertise in high performance website systems, web
services, in a  .Net/IIS environment, and performance tuning/scaling of such
systems

9.        Experience with Oracle 11g, WCF, WPF, WF and SharePoint is a huge
plus

10.        Strong communication skills, in both technical and business terms


11.        Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to
detail

12.        High level of flexibility and ability to persevere through
periods of significant change and challenge in the business environment

Any Microsoft or similar developer certifications will be a plus
