*Title: Network / Voice Engineer* *Location:* Liberty, NY *Duration:* Through 12/31/2011 with likely extension * * *Additional Information:* Requires a *minimum Cisco CCNP certification* *or equivalent demonstrated skill level through experience, plus 7 years solid technical experience in an engineering role as described. * This position works with other members of the network engineering team, corporate IT and the internal customers base to maintain the Cisco UCM clusters. Performing hardware and software upgrades and modifications as required to meet project dates, the voice systems engineer will ensure that the systems meet customer requirements, remain in compliance with best practices and internal design criteria, and comply with Internal Information Security specified guidelines. • Takes direction from the Principal Network Enginner, Voice, video and and wireless systems. • Works directly with Cisco and network engineering to rollout upgrades, ensure proper routing and connectivity and support testing. • Works directly with users to ensure that requirements are met, modifications create no impact to business, maintenance windows are scheduled around business requirements and proper user testing and follow-up with department managers is performed. • Works with the Network Operations Centers and data centers staff to schedule, track and test hardware and connectivity installations as required. • Performs systems analysis and tuning, and makes detailed recommendations for improvement. • Participates in network planning, design and engineering meetings. Specific Job Skills Required: • Demonstrated experience in performing hardware upgrades from MCS to UCS B or C chassis and in *upgrading/migrating to UCM 8.5* in-place (BARS/licensing/etc) • *Presence server* and *MS LYNC integration* experience • *Global Directory/LDAP/AD* integration experience • Demonstrated knowledge in *SIP endpoints* and *SIP PSTN* connectivity. • A thorough knowledge of LAN and WAN architectures and routing protocols, and a thorough working knowledge of Internet protocols and services (TCP / IP, WWW, FTP, TELNET, SSH, SNMP, etc.) • Thorough, demonstrated experience in a technical project deployment role, including the ability to use monitoring, data capture, and analysis tools to solve complex problems. • Possess strong project management skills • A working knowledge of financial industry concepts and terminology and an understanding customer-facing help desk and operations centers voice systems requirements. • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
