Skills/Technologies
Microsoft BizTalk server versions 2002, 2004, 2006/R2, 2009,2010 including
orchestrations, schemas, EDI (HIPAA, X12, HL-7) spec.s, maps, custom
pipelines, LOB adapters, BAM views, rules engine.  Web services , via
HTTP/s, SOAP, and WCF adapters.  SOA compliant design.  8 years High volume
production environment admin, stabilization, troubleshooting, across the
Microsoft stack (BizTalk, SQL Server, MSDTC, IIS, MSMQ, etc.).

Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2005, 2008).  Data modeling (abstract and
physical), T-SQL stored procedures, query optimization, DTS/SSIS
jobs, Message Broker, clustering, high volume production environment
troubleshooting. 11 years C# (3 years), Windows Communications Foundation
(WCF, less than 1 year), Winforms (1 year) Visual Basic (4 years)
Object-oriented design, UML design, Entity-Relationship models, Data Flow
Diagrams, Use Case Analysis, other industry-standard documentation
artifacts. Design/develop interfaces between Macola accounting system and
SAP.

Support/maintain middleware systems built on BizTalk 2009, 2006 R2, 2004,
and 2002.  Stabilize MSMQ-based messaging system,troubleshoot BizTalk issues
in both development and production, design SQL Message Broker system to
transfer data between ship and shore. Rewrite APIS voyage/manifest/passport
data transmission system. Code changes to existing BizTalk applications.
Design and proof of concept work for a pilot project.  Tie in two banks
daily cash account reports in to internal Oracle database at Aegon
insurance.

Documentation, oversee virtual dev server setup, work with SharePoint
architect to harmonize architecture.
Administer virtual, dev, and QA BizTalk environments. Control all deploys,
troubleshoot issues, advise developers on scalability of
solutions.   Configure new virtual dev environments, stabilize existing
development, QA, and production tiers.  Included clustered SQL
servers on a SAN and clustered BizTalk MSMQ hosts.Set up BizTalk and SQL
Servers, designed and implemented solution to connect to
Amazon.com AS2 drop ship system to allow New Vine to act as an Amazon
vendor.  Sent out inventory, order receipt, and advanced ship notice,
received orders.  Via HTTPS/AS2 format. Use cases and design for BizTalk
service oriented architecture to support buyer worksheet and purchase order
workflow.  Designed WCF service contracts, approval routing  pub/sub
services, and submission via MQ to the mainframe.  Worked as partner
consultant in Microsoft Consulting Services team.Replace existing system
that traded XML messages with partners asynchronously to check export
compliance for banned items/customers.  Architected in BizTalk 2006 R2,
developed using VS2005, with automated build via MSBUILD.  Mentored two
developers at client in how to maintain and extend solution, build
test VMs under
VMWare.

Workflow and EDI consultant, primarily enterprise and large corporate
clients. Application integration, B2B, and back office processing
built around Microsoft BizTalk, heavily leveraging Outlook (CDI, message
stores) and SQL Server (DTS, SSIS, data modeling, stored
procedure write/tune).

Key projects included:
2006: Microsoft, Redmond/Issaquah.  Integrate flat file messages from DVD
pressing plant in Puerto Rico to internal SAP accounting and planning
systems. Assisted internal team with EDI and XML to SAP integration using
BizTalk 2006 (orchestrations), SQL Server (SSIS jobs to automate data
extractions, loads), VS 2005 (for C# helper classes and BizTalk MSI
packaging), NUnit. Troubleshoot existing orchestrations, created custom
pipelines to clean up EDI feed data,  re-architected parts of solution from
BizTalk to SSIS for better scalability.
