*Position:* Quality Assurance Lead
*Location:* Tyson’s & Reston, VA
*Duration :* 7 Months
The Quality Assurance Lead ("QAL") is a technically-skilled Web applications
tester with a critical eye for validating design fidelity. The QAL is an
objective analyst who validates the work product of various solution design
disciplines & ensures the integrity of the final product. In this capacity,
the QAL collaborates directly with discipline leads & client stakeholders to
fully understand project requirements & constraints, but remains objective
by focusing on measurements & metrics of quality. The ideal candidate will
display a strong commitment to identifying & eliminating defects at the
source.
* REQUIREMENTS *
· Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
experience.
· Experience: Requires a minimum of 4 years of quality assurance or
software testing experience
· Expert knowledge of Web software development practices &
technologies
· Independent thinking & decision making skills
· Experience with testing Web content management systems & mobile
Web implementations strongly preferred
· Strong analytical, planning, problem solving, & organizational
skills
· Strong client-facing interpersonal & communication skills
· Strong negotiation skills
· Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast paced, high volume
environment
· Must have experience working in a distributed delivery environment
*RESPONSIBILITIES
*
· Evaluate project design artifacts for quality & completeness, &
deliver feedback to discipline leads on any identified gaps, defects or
inconsistencies
· Estimate & plan the testing effort required for Web-based software
projects & be accountable for their associated on-time, successful execution
· Proactively predict & communicate issues/risks & consult with
clients & discipline leads to find creative solutions
· Communicate status information to project teams & client
stakeholders with frequency & accuracy
· Ensure test strategy, test plans & manual test cases are produced
on time & to the right quality
· Provide direction to off-shore test engineers & monitor & report
status of test execution
· Ensure system functionality is thoroughly tested & meets business
objectives
· Enhance & continually refine testing processes & procedures
· Knowledge of basic test automation using Selenium suite of tools
preferred
· Knowledge of load testing using open source or cloud-based tools
like JMeter, OpenSTA, Tsung or WCAT preferred
