LOCATION: North Haven, CT LENGTH: 6 months RATE: DOE/hr - T*WO OPENINGS* *Requires minimum of 7 years of testing – senior role (Team LEAD) – certifications would be beneficial.* Responsible for providing leadership in the design/development of product testing/quality processes and in developing testing architecture equal to that of commercial quality software. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Establishes automation platforms and mentors staff in testing and product quality processes. Establishes quality architecture as business and technical conditions change to assure quality and defines, monitors and collects testing/product quality data. Identifies quality needs of functional feature, performance and service requirements/components. Supervises the use of appropriate testing methods to employ to assure developed product conforms to requirements and design. Leads the team review of defects in assessing product quality. Facilitates review of applications for testing needs and requirements/design quality. Consults to projects and application support groups regarding quality and testing and may participate in the transition of software and systems into production. Plans, prepares and executes test assets and executes linkage from test plan to test scenarios and cases. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Requires BA/BS in Computer Science or Information Systems; *7 years of testing*/product quality experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Requires an understanding or organizational impacts and trade-offs of quality processes. Quality certification within one year of job placement and prior to moving to the next job level. SKILLS: Analytical, communication and planning skills required. Additional Job Description Details Strong understanding of project life cycle methodology (agile, waterfall) and procedures in delivering and supporting large complex systems Demonstrated on-time and on-budget system delivery skills and experience Demonstrated knowledge of systems and application technologies and architecture Demonstrated experience in working with various geographically diverse associates and vendor partners Demonstrated experience in leading the Testing team for module(s) and/or Systems *Demonstrated experience in using Rational and Mercury Toolsets (Requisite Pro, Clear Case, Clear Quest, Rational Functional Tester, Rational Quality Manager, Load Runner) to deliver systems. Prefer 5+ years of experience in Rational/Mercury Toolsets* Demonstrated experience in testing systems for high availability web applications Demonstrated experience in testing web services SOA applications for security, scalability and high volume transactions Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing Test Strategy, Master Test plan, Test Data Management, Test Cases, Test Scenarios and Executing of Test cases including validation against expected results Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing Performance Testing Strategy/scripts, Stress Test Strategy/scripts, Load Test Strategy/scripts Demonstrated experience in various automation approaches including but not limited to scripting with database validation.
