Title: Java Developer (NYS) - 7430 Location: Albany, NY Duration: 2+ years of contract Overview: The NYS Office of Cyber Security (OCS) has developed a secure, web-based Geographic Information System (GIS) application to support emergency response and law enforcement activities in NYS. OCS is now seeking up to two (2) Java developers to work on-site with OCS staff to further develop this application, the Critical Infrastructure Response Information System (CIRIS), to meet additional requirements for integration with other applications and to enhance the current capabilities. MANDATORY EXPERIENCE CANDIDATES NOT MEETING ALL OF THE MANDATORY EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS BELOW WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION . Minimum 8 years overall IT experience with a Minimum 4 years experience with writing application software, data analysis, data access, data structures data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions; . Environments include but are not limited to personal computers and web applications; . Available to assist and/or lead in the design of program specifications and the implementation of software solutions. . Minimum 0.5 years experience developing Java/J2EE Applications with the Spring Framework . Minimum 0.5 years experience using the Java Hibernate Core for Data Access . Minimum 1 year experience developing applications interfaced with Oracle databases . Minimum 0.5 years experience deploying applications in IBM Websphere - Minimum 1 year experience working with staff to identify improvements and implement changes to code . Minimum 1 year experience reviewing business requirements . Minimum 1 year experience designing user interface screens . Minimum 1 year experience developing in XML . Minimum 0.5 years experience developing with Adobe Flex . Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing ASSOCIATED SKILL SETS Candidates must also have 6 of the preferred skilled sets listed below. Accordingly, candidates not meeting the supporting experiential specifications below will not be considered for the position. . Experience in developing applications for a highly secured environment . Experience developing Java/J2EE Applications with the Struts Framework . Experience using XML to store and retrieve objects in Oracle Experience developing with JavaBeans, JSP pages and Servlets . Experience working with Oracle 10g/11g databases Experience using Siteminder and New York State Directory Services (NYSDS) for authentication . Experience using Oracle Text 10g/11g Experience working with ESRI ArcGIS Server software Experience working with Safe Software FME Objects .
