* * *Minneapolis, MN* *Network Engineer* Duration: 12-13 mo Bill Rate: DOE Our Information Technology team has a senior-level opening to maintain and provide operational support to our network infrastructure. This temporary position is effective through *12/31/2012.* Responsibilities include: · Provide 24 by 7 on-call operational support for the Bank’s IP network. · Provides highly skill technical assistance in network planning, engineering, and architecture. Develops technical standards and interface applications, identifies and evaluates new products, and provides resolution for network problems. Responds quickly and efficiently to network failures, identification of problems, and implements solutions in a timely manner. Anticipates and eliminates problem areas. · Designs, installs, and troubleshoots a variety of networks using technologies and protocols appropriate for the networks target use. Documents procedures and maintains process guidelines for the network systems. · Communicates complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical in nature. Establishes and maintains a cooperative working relationship with peers and non-peers alike, particularly during high stress situations as often exist during system outages or ongoing operational difficulty. · Provides training to other network analysts and technical staff. · Participates and may lead projects at the local and national level to design, configure, and implement network solutions. *Requirements:* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; coursework or major in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Sciences, Systems Analysis is required. 6 or more years of experience with network systems design, components, and protocols.
