*Local candidates to Bay Area * L*ocation: San Jose* *Duration:1+ yr ***** * * * * Drive the development of world-class reporting and analytics solutions. Perform ad-hoc reporting and data analysis. Act as the liaison between the Global Product and experiences teams and the Data Management organization. Build and maintain strong relationships with business partners, customers and technology teams who partner with Data Management to build Business Intelligence solutions. Work with key business end users to conceptualize and document new product or reporting requirements. Work with the business to understand and document requirements completely and accurately. Understand project development lifecycle. Design and successfully execute test plans, including coordination with source systems, business participants and the QA team. Communicate status, issues and risks to project stakeholders, project team and management. Conduct business analysis and provide subject area and domain expertise. Incorporate analysis into detailed functional specifications documentation, including data samples, use cases, key project assumptions, report samples, proposed ad hoc samples, data flows, logical data models and other details required to bridge the understanding between business and technical teams. Develop deep understanding of source systems, business usage, Data Warehouse transformations and business logic, data issues, related to key subject areas and/or Data Marts in the Data Warehouse. Support efforts to reconcile data between platforms and to investigate and resolve discrepancies between the financial systems of record and other analytical sources. Work at all levels of business and technology organizations to communicate requirements. Report status/progress to senior and executive management. Stay up-to-date on core PayPal data warehouse design/architecture in order to understand impacts. Proactively identify opportunities to improve the quality, scalability or usability of key Data Management product related systems. Prepare project plans and manage significant initiative independently through delivery. Mentor and develop junior staff. Participate in proposal development and client presentations. Enable automation in development processes to maximize productivity and quality. Solve complex technical problems, assimilate information rapidly, and work under time constraints. Work collaboratively with other Business Intelligence and ETL resources to design and develop effective solutions. Utilize Database design, SQL, Reporting tools, Teradata, and ETL concepts.
