The client work environment is very casual and a cool place to hang around and be surrounded by technical professional who are passionate about their work and congregate to bounce ideas off each other. *Job Description* · Candidate will primarily be responsible for supporting the large enterprise/Hosting environment that provides production customer web presence. · Will be responsible for providing production and development support for the installed hosting systems infrastructure. · Provide technical, functional and administrative consultation and support for projects, initiatives and inquiries. · The Lead Systems Administrator is a member of the Production Operations and Internal Systems team that is responsible for the operation (deployment, maintenance, support, upgrades, system planning, etc) of production and internal systems. · This position is responsible for understanding system deployment, upgrade path, capacity planning, and network topology for multiple production web applications. · Major responsibilities include software system maintenance (working with developers), capacity monitoring and planning, network topology for existing and future web applications and support for production and internal applications. · Also, this individual will be tasked with leading the support of existing internal lab systems that support research and development testing. · System planning, support and maintenance for multiple software web applications running in production for millions of end-users. · Understand our software deployment procedures and operations in order to be responsible for system planning and implementation · Monitor production and internal software for maintenance and planning purposes · Make recommendations for hardware based on usage (capacity planning) · Deploy software for internal and production systems · Perform analysis and benchmarks relating to the software installations; document and publish results. · Proactive management of systems installations’ performance, health and capacity. · Rotate with staff, as required, to provide support for applications on a 24 X 7 basis. · Work within a small production operation team that is fully responsible for the operations of large, live web applications · Coordinate releases with developers and production teams · Champion new initiative to build an internal lab for testing and QA · Ability to take leadership role on projects and consistently meet deadlines · Ability and experience leading and directing teams and staff. · Team-player possessing flexibility and willingness to do what it takes to get the work done. *Job Requirement:* · 7-8+ years experience with installing and maintaining production level equipment (hardware and software) · Strong working knowledge of Linux (RedHat preferred). · Should have experience in designing and supporting RedHat Enterprise server, 4 and/or 5. · Experience in VMware (Required) & Xen virtualization. · Working knowledge with “Hadoop” or “Azkaban” is a great plus. · Experience/ability configuring, installing and troubleshooting hardware, OS, & third party software. · Competent with multiple types of hardware – Sun, Dell, HP, EMC · Have built, maintained and operated many servers in production for use by millions of end-users · Hands on in data-center environment are desirable. · Network TCP/IP protocols – CCNA a plus · Email – SMTP/IMAP/POP MS Exchange · Telco background a plus – VOIP · Proven leadership contributions in the project – that includes: People Management, Project Management, allocation of tasks to Junior or other admins, monitoring the deliverables etc. · Must have strong, independent problem solving skills and have the ability to self-direct · Also manage and assign task to other System Admins. · Excellent understanding of application interfaces, network design and implementation, Linux and Windows internals and subsystems. · Proven analytical, problem solving and organizational ability · Excellent oral/written communication and inter-personal skills * * *Please email your MS Word resume to *[email protected] *and completed skills-matrix.* Full Name: Degree Major: Total IT exp: Total Linux Systems Administrator exp: Total exp in RedHat Enterprise Server: Total exp in VMware Virtualization: Total exp in hardware’s such as Sun, Dell, HP, EMC etc: Total exp in large enterprise/Hosting environment Total exp in Email Servers (SMTP/IMAP/POP MS Exchange): Total exp in Linux and Windows internals and subsystems: Total exp as a Team Lead exp: Are you an US Citizen/Green Card/Others?
