There may be a chance for the consultant to work remotely, once they get up to speed. *Duration: *6+ month engagement with a possible contract to hire. This is a funded project and they are ready to interview. Job Description JetBlue is seeking Windows Server Engineers to join their team in Forest Hills, NY. This position will be responsible for preparing engineering analysis of projects to include: preliminary design, calculation, life-cycle cost and equipment selection. The Windows Engineer installs, maintains and troubleshoots server software, hardware and related infrastructure. Responsible for assisting in day to day administration of the Windows Server environment. • Knowledge of Microsoft server hardware, administration and implementation • Knowledge of Microsoft networking applications, networking protocols, routers and firewalls • Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts (Microsoft technologies preferred) • Monitors, maintains, and supports JetBlue’s Windows networking infrastructure, including Active Directory, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and others. • Ensures MS-SQL database applications and interfaces are available via periodic health checks • Support & troubleshoot server based applications on a local and remote level throughout the enterprise • Configure, enhance, or upgrade server hardware as needed to keep up with the growing demands of the user population • Provides timely escalation for issues based on predefined levels for mission critical applications • Conducts in depth evaluations, diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving a wide variety of complex technical issues. • Research, evaluate, test, recommend and implement new technologies • Develop server standards, policies, and procedures regarding design and implementation of hardware, software, and systems • Manage significant system upgrades, enhancements, migrations, server downtime, integration and releases of new software to QA, production and disaster recovery environments and resolve any technical and/or business issues REQUIREMENTS • 5 years of experience building and administering Windows servers • 2 to 5 years of experience with Microsoft networking including TCP/IP • Experience with MS-SQL databases and Active Directory • Knowledge of Microsoft server hardware, administration and implementation • Knowledge of Microsoft networking applications, networking protocols, routers and firewalls • Knowledge of technology fundamentals and concepts (Microsoft technologies preferred) • Knowledge of VMware and virtualization technologies • Knowledge of Citrix server installations and administration • Effective project management skills REQ'D SKILLS: 1.
