Conduct application performance tuning, operational process development and configuration management for business and infrastructure applications. . Responsible for following the Application Support Lifecycle by managing application availability, deployment, patching, capacity & upgrades. . Support the incident management process as a Tier 2 [on-call] support engineer for business applications & infrastructure applications . Maintain post-handoff operational documentation, including run-books, documentation repositories, procedures and processes . Conduct problem management process (root cause analysis) attempt to determine the real or underlying cause of an incident in order to prevent future recurrences; maintain incident and problem log for supported applications. . Support development and documentation standards for operating procedures and best practices in our technical repository . Interact with cross-functional teams, including development, server operations, infrastructure engineering and solutions engineering. . Provide feedback to Implementation and Architecture teams around performance, capacity, usage and utilization for supported applications. . Participate in Service Management Processes such as incident, problem, change and IT asset management. Qualifications: . University degree in the field of computer science or computer information systems or other degree with equivalent work experience required. . A minimum of 7 years of experience in Information Technology including 5+ years of business application support required and 3+ years of software / application development experience preferred. . Strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills, with the ability to identify learning opportunities, improve current processes. . Strong written, verbal, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interface with technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the organization. . Proven ability to resolve user/systems issues effectively within process and procedure parameters, and to document solutions accurately in a timely manner. . Ability to learn and apply new technologies to solve technical problems. . Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. . Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. . Experience in implementing and managing information technology projects spanning multiple geographical locations. . Strong understanding and experience in application development life-cycle and alternative SDLC methodologies such as Agile. .
