Peoplesoft HRIS Consultant

Chicago, IL

This role has to be onsite at our client in Chicago just north of downtown.
Typical hours are from 7:30-5. They need someone who has gone through a
Workday implementation with an HRIS background.  A financial background
would be a major plus but not required.

If they are willing to travel for projects we will be able to keep them busy
and move them on to a different project after this one.

Their environment is an "empowered and casual" group that works hard and
people wear multiple hats.  It's a very flat organization without much red
tape.  They have about 330 employees and plan to add another 100 this year.
They also have employees in Singapore and London.

heir current compensation tracking system is done on Excel and they have
Ceridian in as their payroll processing piece.  Their backoffice uses
different technologies and Workday has a proprietary tool that makes it easy
to integrate those.  

The consultant will need to help them with workflows and business processes
but they already have the requirements documented.

Need someone who has experience in both large and mid-sized companies. 

 

Purpose: This position is responsible for providing vision, leadership,
planning, project coordination, and management for the implementation of the
Human Capital Management System, Workday. This position is accountable for
ensuring continuity and successful implementation delivery of the new HCM to
the firm's end users and internal HR team administrators.

.         Responsibilities include developing and executing methodology for
Jump to reach future state processes in accordance with the Jump's desired
outcome of utilizing the Workday system.

.         Partners with HR team and the internal customers to analyze work
process design and flow, improve processes and leverage the return on
technological capabilities.

.         Builds project plans, ensures adherence to project schedules,
maintains a systems orientation and can work effectively with peers to set
technology priorities and conduct long-term planning

.         Educates HR team and on system functionality and technical
requirements, system gaps, and recommend process improvement opportunities
and/or innovative solutions to prepare for Jump's future growth plans.

.         Partner with Jump HR Team & cross-functional departments to find
consensus on the structure and setup of the new Workday system. (i.e.
setting up business processes based on work flows,  creating a logical
organizational structure, etc.) 

.         Provide strategic business and technical roadmap assistance to
Jump in order to prepare for future growth.

.         Understand HR and other cross-functional department requirements
understand the inner-workings of Jump to manage impact of change on other
departments and business processes. 

.         Act as Project Manager during implementation process

.         Assist with data conversion from Ceridian to Workday

.         Assist with testing and implementation to reach a successful Go
Live date of July 1, 2012

.         Provide support in researching and resolving issues after
implementation such as unexpected results or process flaws, recommend
solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements. 

.         Prepare communication memos and develop/document training
materials for end users. 

REQUIREMENTS: 

.         Previous Workday Implementation Experience  with a multi-country
client (US, UK, Singapore)

.         Working knowledge of Workday software as a service product

.         Ability to work on-site at Jump Chicago office in a full-time,
"hands-on"  capacity

.         Data conversion technical knowledge of extracting data and
importing data in multiple formats

.         Previous experience with financial services would be a plus

.         Requires effective verbal and written communication skills,
excellent interpersonal skills, ability to maintain confidential matters,
and a strong interest in HR technology.

.         Strong project management experience

.         Strong ability to communicate with technical and non-technical
users
