Thanks!* * * *A key member of our Infrastructure team, operational support/maintenance of global UNIX/Linux environments, running Solaris 5.8 and higher, and Redhat Enterprise 4.x and above (build, administration, configuration/maintenance of servers). Responsibilities: •Development/ implementation of UNIX related projects •Routine network maintenance, server installation, configuration, upgrades, optimization, and improvements. •General/preventive maintenance tasks: backing up/ recovering data, cleaning equipment, network cabling •Maintain logs/documentation of work activities, application errors/failures, system modifications, maintenance activities, installations, computer operations, documents repair status •Install Solaris/Linux from ground up/prepare servers for application or DB deployment. •Communicates with hardware/software vendors:; operational and/or mechanical problems, new products; consultative role on new policies Experiences/Skills: •Solaris 5.8 and above, LINUX 4.x and above •TCP/IP, NFS, NIS, DNS, LDAP, Security/Performance Monitoring •Veritas Foundation Suite (Volume Manager, FileSystem and Cluster Server) •Shell scripting, ksh or Perl. •Server hardware (x86, Sun family (T series, M series), RISC & CISC based servers •Veritas/Sun Cluster •Virtualization methods/implementations experience including zones/containers •Administrative virtual machine (VM) servers, deploy web applications, storage area, networks, (SAN), backup/restore software. •Manage/communicate project tasks, status, and deadlines* ** Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
