8mo contract Bloomington, MN Design, implement, or operate comprehensive data warehouse systems to balance optimization of data access with batch loading and resource utilization factors, according to customer requirements. Develop data warehouse process models, including sourcing, loading, transformation, and extraction. Create or implement metadata processes and frameworks. Create supporting documentation, such as metadata and diagrams of entity relationships, business processes, and process flow. Design and implement data structures. Develop and implement data extraction procedures from other systems Develop or maintain standards, such as organization, structure, or nomenclature, for the design of data elements Map data between source systems, data warehouses, and data marts Description: The primary role of the Data Analytics Lead is to take the design and technical specifications and coordinate the Reporting and Analytics development of effective and high quality technical BI solutions that meet the business requirements. The technical domain of the Business Intelligence includes understanding Reporting best practices, tools and technologies, security in the BI environment, understanding of different data warehousing and dimensional modeling concepts, BI development, performance tuning, support system test and code deployment in production. The person performing this role would require having at least 5-7 years of Business Intelligence experience, preferably in healthcare domain and must have experience in leading a Business Intelligence team. Minimum of Five Years (5) experience as a Cognos Lead Must have experience on the following: • 5+ Years of experience in designing and implementing reports, scorecards and dashboards using Cognos- Framework Manager, Query Studio, Metric Studio, Analysis Studio. • Experience in 8.X versions of Cognos is a must; knowledge on Cognos 10 capabilities is a plus. • Also need to have hands-on experience in Cognos installation and administration • Understanding of Enterprise Data warehouse data models and dimensional modeling concepts, framework design for canned and ad-hoc reporting and Business Intelligence Leadure • Experience in developing Business Intelligence solution on different databases like DB2, Oracle, Cache or Microsoft SQL Server with good SQL programming skills and understanding of performance tuning used in data management systems • Development experience of advanced reports, and ability to write supplemental code (SQL) to create customized reports. • Understanding of Portal integration of Cognos with applications like Microsoft SharePoint, Envision or custom Java APIs and setting up security roles for internal and external report users • Configuration Management with looks like Microsoft Visual Source Safe, Subversion etc • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to meet tight deadlines, follow development standards and coordinate in between Collaborative Care business and Cognos Report development team Responsibilities: ? Work closely with the Collaborative Care Solution Lead and design and develop all the enterprise Business Intelligence Leadure. ? Design report templates, create, manage and fulfill requests for reports and information. ? Work with business owners to develop new summarized subject areas and reports. ? Communicates status of the team to the Data Analytics Project Manager, including status, issues and other needs ? Manages day-to-day administration of Cognos infrastructure and well as task assignment for the Reporting development team. ? Validate that the business requirements are complete, consistent, concise, and technically achievable. ? Reviews the work of team members in terms of technical quality and completeness ? Responsible for collaborating with business Leads, analysts and data analysts to resolve gaps between the reporting requirements and BI design specifications and ensuring these decisions are documented. ? Produce high-level reporting specifications that meet business requirements within the scope of the pre-established or conceptualized Business Intelligence Leadure. ? Produce detailed reporting specifications consistent with the reporting needs. ? Identify and communicate proactively and diligently design and scope issues with the Director of Data Analytics ? Conduct report reviews with customer as needed ? Participate in data model and data mart design reviews. ? Guide Cognos developers implementing the solution. ? Creates other technical deliverable artifacts needed for project implementation. ? Responsible for developing and mentoring project team both onshore and offshore and deployment of the solution in production ? Oversee QA functions for the Reporting application, including ensuring that system and integration test plans are developed and executed. ? Responsible for team effectiveness and maintains development task schedule. ? Responsible for knowledge transfer, training and communication with the vendor, end users and team members ?
