Specifically, this position will work with the business owner, DBAs, and ETL and Report developers to deliver comprehensive ETL and Data Warehouse solutions. * *In this capacity you will be an expert in ETL practices and implementation. You will provide technical leadership and best practices in the design, development and deployment of the ETL solutions using Microsoft BI technology. Duties & Responsibilities: Perform, and lead others in, hands-on coding of data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL) according to BI/DW Industry best-practices. Full life cycle development including analysis, design, development, testing and documentation including version control practices and technologies Responsible for implementing new data extracts, transformations, and load routines. Work with external and internal customers to identify requirements for ETL processes, and designs and builds ETL tools for various data structures including data marts, data warehouses, flat files, and OLTP **sources. Design and build efficient SQL queries, analyzes query time comparison, and uses indexes efficiently. Perform performance tuning of ETL processes Identify data discrepancies and data quality issues, and work to ensure data consistency and integrity. Assist in the development and maintenance of data warehouse initiatives and reporting needs for the business* * * *Must have in-depth knowledge and experience in following Microsoft BI technology – **MS SQL, SSIS, and SSRS SSIS** - Implemented in any Data warehousing projects (at least 1), Data Migration projects or Data Cleansing exercise o SSRS - Implemented in any Operational or Analytical Reporting in Native and SharePoint Integrated mode o T-SQL - * *Should have worked at least 3 years on databases and should have very good T-SQL, querying and stored proc writing skills • * *Following knowledge and experience in Microsoft BI technology are valued. o SSAS - Implemented in any Data warehousing projects (at least 1 or should have a good working knowledge from an implementation point of view) o **MDX* * Must have knowhow of basic level of MDX to the extent that one can create basic queries, calculated measures, named sets, and year-on-year comparison queries/expressions etc.TDWI and SQL Server Certifications are valued. Knowledge & Experience Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting multi-terabyte data warehouses. Advanced SQL writing and tuning skills.Strong understanding of dimensional, as well as relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices. Experience with data processing flowcharting techniques. Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. * *Good knowledge of applicable data security practices. Agile software development is desirable Personal Attributes Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.* *Strong written and oral communication skills. Excellent technical architecture and technical support documentation skills.
