*Job Description*
o Administer the System Center Operations Manager and other Monitoring
solutions
o Own and manage the design, installation, configuration, and maintenance
of monitoring software and utilities, with SCOM expertise a specific
technical requirement; performance management and monitoring application
software and data
o Debug performance management hardware and network issues, such as
connectivity issues related to SCOM agents, SCOM console and end users
o Assist in the definition of alert thresholds
o Support performance tuning and capacity planning in an enterprise data
center environment
o Provide SCOM integration support with other monitoring systems
o Provide recommendations to improve monitoring environment, propose
enhanced SCOM solutions to resolve issues, maintain current documentation,
and implement industry best practices
o Collaborate with Infrastructure Services and Application Management to
define and set expectations on SCOM documentation to support the following
items related to SCOM install and deployment: Install prerequisites,
Install SCOM, Install agents, Deploy management pack, Tune management pack,
and Deploy management pack
o Develop and maintain SCOM product management and operations procedures,
capacity planning, performance monitoring, change control records and other
required documentation and processes
Prerequisites
2 + years experience required in the design, implementation
and on-going maintenance/management of enterprise-scale SCOM solution
4+ years experience in server administration, working in a
large, enterprise class environment, maintaining and managing a
monitoring/tools infrastructure
4+ years experience in server system administration,
working with Windows 2003 (or more recent) server operating system platform
7+ years experience in working with enterprise level
technology equipment, including network, centralized storage, and backup
equipment
