* No H1B ….. need locals who can go F2F …..,* *Job Title:Release Engineer Location:Bedford MA Duration:6+ months, Job Description: This position is for a Senior Release Engineer located in our Bedford Woods location or any location within USA. You will be responsible for Configuration management, Software builds, Version control system maintenance, and releases. This will require partnering and communicating with Development, QA, Documentation, Operations and other groups. GENERAL SUMMARY: You will develop, analyze and maintains tools that support and automate build processes and maintain all build related tools. You will create and maintain automated builds, integrate build/test/release processes, and control deployments to multiple environments. You will be responsible for documenting and implementing procedures related to builds and deployments. You will coordinate builds for release to our customers and work with development to resolve build issues. There will be a strong emphasis on maintaining branches, supporting parallel development, and tracking all changes within multiple branches. You may provide day to day team leadership and train less experienced engineers as required. You will interface extensively with your peers in EMC locations worldwide and regularly contact colleagues across functional area and occasionally interact with senior management PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create and maintain automated builds, integrate build/test/release processes, execute build processes and debug code build related issues. Develop, analyze and maintain tools that support and automate build processes. Develop and maintain branching strategies for products. Document and Implement procedures related to builds and deployments. Maintain regular contact with colleagues across cross functional groups and senior management. Qualifications: Experience in software engineering methodologies, release engineering and/or configuration management in any mainstream SCM Tool. Perforce/SVN experience would be helpful. You should desire to pursue a career in this field. Experience with common build tools – Ant, make, maven and scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python, Java (ant/maven). Experience implementing and running build systems for complex cross-platform products. Familiarity with common UNIX distributions (Linux/Solaris/HPUX/AIX). Experience building applications for deployment on Windows, Mac, and Unix systems. Administration knowledge of Unix, Windows, Internet Security, and basic database deployment/maintenance is desired. Experience deploying and maintaining open source tools (Maven, Tinderbox, Bugzilla, Apache, etc) would be helpful. Experience with Continuous Integration tools such as Hudson, Cruise control, and BuildForge Candidates must be self-motivated, flexible, and have good communication and Cross-Functional skills. Ability to multi-task, to work in a team environment, and to work independently is desired. Candidates should be creative problem solvers with a passion for technology. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in an applicable field (or equivalent work experience).
