*Job Title: SAP Performance Testing/Tuning
Location: San Jose, CA
Duration: 1 - 3 years contract.*

Job Descreption:
The client is looking for a SAP Performance Testing/Tuning.

Skills Required:
ABAP
Performance testing
BASIS
Tools knowledge must include SAP’s toolset for deriving performance
metrics. Must have both functional and technical knowledge of the
application
Functional, cross module knowledge of SAP
Ability to run SAP scans through batch programs
SAP cross functional knowledge includes SD, MM and FI
Candidate must have passion to break as well as fix things
Candidate must willing and not afraid to voice their opinion
This role is about the strategy of SAP Performance as a whole, not the
admin piece of it.
Need to understand SAP performance across many modules, not just the
administrative piece of it, but the strategy of what functionality works
and what won’t.
Need to understand how to collect performance metrics and use the tools
within SAP to get these metrics.
SQL Tuning is necessary (Oracle expertise would work too), not just a
discovery of what is needed and a handoff to another team but feedback to
the ABAP team on how to do it better.
Tools knowledge must include SAP’s toolset for deriving performance
metrics. Must have both functional and technical knowledge of the
application
Must know the T codes that affect performance. T-codes: 50, 51, 21, 22,
12. Also, T-code 30. If the candidate says “yes, I’ve worked with those
t-codes” or “I know how to work with them,” that will be an indicator they
are a fit.
As for Abap, they need to be able to come up with performance solutions
without actually developing in Abap. They can make recommendations, but
they do not have the developers keys to Abap. Must be able to develop Abap
through SAP.
Functional, cross module knowledge of SAP
Ability to run SAP scans through batch programs
ABAP expertise in background (can be from long ago) is helpful
BASIS (example used was all BASIS resources know how to setup security
(admin function), but not all of them know the strategy of the profiles
setup and why. Want the strategy people)
Knowledge of RFC and Redwood helpful.

Thanks & Best Regards
