We have an immediate need for a Java Developer w/ extensive GWT experience. they are looking to wrap this position up by the end of next week. This is a long-term contract with the possibility to go multiple years. The interview process is a phone and then in-person interview. *If candidates are not capable of coming to Atlanta for an in-person interview on their own dime or with the cost being covered by your company, PLEASE do not send them. *That being said, I can turn around interviews on this within 24 hours. * * Additionally, are rate cap is $55/hr. C2C for Senior level candidates. If I receive candidates that exceed that rate, I will not be interested in speaking to them. Likewise, if they are truly Jr. or Mid level candidates, and you try and market them at $55/hr. C2C, I will also not be interested in speaking to them. Here is the job description: This senior/lead level resource will be focusing on revenue management and special promotions projects. Projects will typically be backend applications and many of them are web based in Java. This person will be responsible for interpreting business requirements to create and design code, implement code and also do test cases. They will also be responsible for getting their hands dirty with support/maintenance in order to correct production issues that are discovered. Basic SQL queries will also be part of their daily job duties. (They are currently using Oracle 10g and 11i.) Additional duties include participating in code reviews, working with other senior developers and architects to come up with coding solutions, and collaborating with the QA team. This role will be about 50% new development and 50% support/maintenance (solution design will be part of both). *The ideal candidate should have about 75% front end and 25% backend experience. Experience with GWT or GXT is absolutely required for this role. Soft skills include the ability to demonstrate senior level programming experience, past demonstrated experience in a leadership role (taking leadership on projects and delegation to junior developers), and can function independently with little guidance. The top 3 technical skills are: 1) GWT or GXT (the more the better) 2) very strong design skills and 3) senior level Java skills. Summary: Write programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. Responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made. Education/Experience o Bachelors degree in computer science or relevant field required o 7+ years experience required Skills and Competencies: o Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills o Expert ability to work independently and manage one’s time o Expert mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback o Expert knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery o Expert ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue o Expert knowledge of computer hardware and software o Knowledge in the following technologies (these are "nice-to-haves" but will really help with the specific projects this resource will be working on): Oracle 10g+ (Database) SOAP/WSDL Webservices RESTful Webservices (Middle-tier Webservices to pass data from GUI to SOAP in JSON form) GXT (a.k.a. Ext GWT) 2.1.0+ (GUI is built on GXT) GWT 2.1.0+ (if not familiar with GXT specifically, general GWT aptitude will do with a learning curve) Java 5+ (General Java coding experience always helps) o Optional: Eclipse SVN Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: o Review and approve the development of software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design o Counsel engineering staff on hardware and software, and direct staff to develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems o Advise customer about the maintenance of software system o Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures o Inform customers or other departments on project status, proposals and technical issues such as software system design and maintenance o Direct software programming and development of documentation o Perform other duties as assigned Please send the updated resume of the consultant along with the rate, location and contact information.
