Systems Administrator (for the Network Operations Center)

A. Duties. Supervises and manages the daily activities of configuration and
operation of business systems which may be mainframe, mini, or
client/server based. Optimizes system operation and resource utilization,
and performs system capacity analysis and planning. Provides assistance to
users in accessing and using business systems.
B. Qualifications. A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information
Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical
discipline. This position requires a minimum of four years’ experience, or
which at least three years must be specialized experience in administrating
computer systems. General experience includes operations experience on a

large-scale computer system of a multi-server local area network.
With a Master’s Degree (in the fields described in B above): three years
general experience of which at least two years must be specialized
experience is required.
With eight years general experience of which six years is specialized, a
degree is not required

SCOPE OF WORK:  In support of the overall objective of the task as outlined
in the BACKGROUND section above, the Subcontractor will provide the
following:
Monitor and provide support for Novell/Netware under Windows NT, 2000, and
XP Environments using TCP/IP and IPX/SPX protocols under Ethernet Base-T100
topology
Monitor all WAN/FBA sites utilizing HP NNMI to detect circuits affecting
network performance
Provide technical support to technicians by verifying network components
are working properly or resolving any network connectivity issues in a
timely manner
Monitor Sun servers, IPS backups and database and file server status
Track weekly tape backup records for the LAN, SUN, IPS and OIG departments
Support Help Desk staff during server/communication outage notifications
Open, update and resolve network incident tickets using HP service manager
ticket system
Prepare daily SOR (significant occurrences report) attend meetings,
Weekly/Monthly Server Outage, Network Availability and Executive Reports in
coordination with staff and the project manager
