Ensure consistency and synchronization across server platform and integrates other infrastructure components. Ensure server performance optimization, and maintenance by following operational procedures for maintaining and upgrading server platforms. Involved in supporting new and existing applications. Work with other IT groups and business units. Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems and knowledgeable in one or more system platforms. *PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure proper deployment of new servers in accordance with practices and standards. Ensure that the technical environment is properly monitored and that any problems are rectified. Identify system performance issues and drives the development of tools to correct. Provide technical expertise in cross-functional and intra-departmental efforts. Create and maintain host-based storage configurations. Lead the design of the computing infrastructure. Mentor less experienced administrators. *MUST HAVE SKILLS: * Extensive experience administering large scale Redhat Linux installations. Experience with Oracle on Redhat Linux. Expert operating in highly virtualized (VMware) environment. EMC Storage products. Scripting (perl or shell). Ability to work in a highly visible, fast paced environment with minimal supervision and major responsibility. Problem solving skills. Communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment.
