Wayne, IN * * *Notes from Director: *Frontier still needs a Wireless (which really means wi-fi) Planner/Architect. The criteria is work experience in planning, designing, and testing (lab environment preferred) 802.11 networks and equipment. Many of the candidates have work experience with cellular (LTE, 4G, 3G) or WiMax (which is understandable based on our description of wireless). The cell experience would be helpful if it is in addition to 802.11. *Centralized Planning – Sr Network Planner* *Job Description: * Responsible for the development of detailed system specifications, test plans and guidelines for Access/CPE/Transport products and services in support of new product roll-outs including platform engineering, product lab testing, functional and system integration tests. This individual will coordinate with regional engineering teams and the centralized Provisioning and Operations teams to integrate new products and services into the network including lab evaluations and network field trials. *Required Experience:* Requires a range of skills and knowledge within the telecom access or transport disciplines, including familiarity with principles, concepts, and technologies as well as applied knowledge of established procedures, policies and practices. Education/Experience required is Bachelor of Science degree or 8 years of equivalent experience. Prefer M.S. in Engineering or Computer Science or 15 years of equivalent experience. Lab testing experience preferred. Experience (preferably hands-on testing) with equipment in one or more areas is required: - Access equipment: DSLAMs, Modems, NIDs, FTTP, Access Routers. - Transport equipment: SONET, DWDM, ROADM, Ethernet transport 8031/8032. - Wireless/WiFI and home networking equipment: modem/gateways and access points for protocols 802.11a/b/g/n, 802.11ac, MIMO Experience or training with communications protocols (TCP/IP, SONET, PPPoE, IP-VPN…etc.) is preferred. Working knowledge of layer-2 topologies, and understanding of QoS and CoS Good written and oral communications skills are required. *Desired Experience:* Location: Fort Wayne, IN (would consider Rochester, NY as an alternative).
