JOB TITLE : SQL DEVELOPER LOCATION: BROOKLYN, NY DURATION: 6MONTHS+ SCOPE OF SERVICES TheData Element Exchange Program (DEEP) is a multi-agency effort to strengthen the City’s oversight and coordinated regulation of various City Operations, including, but not limited to, Public Health, Public Safety, Construction, Debt Collection, Violation History, License issuance and Permit issuance.In the summer of 2008, a City taskforce comprised of members of the Mayor’s Office, Law Department, Fire Department, Department of Buildings and Department of Environmental Protection presented several recommendations in areas including, technology and data sharing, legislation, and inspection protocols. This solicitation is for assistance with data sharing, an area where significant progress has been made during the past several years but where additional opportunities for improvement exist. Agencies interact with one another through various methods (i.e. telephone, email, fax, etc.) on a daily basis and realize the importance of sharing data in a standardized format. The scope of services to be performed by the selected individual includes: Work closely under the direction of the Project Manager with stakeholders from DoITT, the Mayor’s Office, FDNY, DOB, DEP, ECB, DCP, DOF, DOHMH, DOT, HPD, LPC including managers, line employees, and IT staff. Responsible for implementing systems (data exchanges) in line with business goals, objectives and technical requirements. Should be able to understand and follow the technical design documents and update them, if needed, during the development phase. Execute development plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Modify existing programs to confirm to system changes or to make improvements in the existing program. Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing changes and corrections. SQL Server development including stored procedures, functions and triggers as well as clustering and T-SQL Design and Develop SQL Server Integration packages using SSIS Conduct code reviews of the system being developed Assist in testing efforts, perform unit testing and fixes during testing process Assist the support team in deployment Other related development tasks in the SDLC Deliverables: All documentation regarding system design Required document Detailed System Architecture Diagram Data-flow Diagram Architecture Document – an overview on the problem addressed and the solution produced including the methods used. Entity-Relationship Diagram Object Dictionary – a short description on the contents or function of each table, view, procedure and function. Data Dictionary – a short description on the contents of each column. Deployment Diagrams Configurations Code developed in T-SQL, SQL, and ETL. Use cases and misuse cases for handoff to QA team. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS References should be provided from at least two former or current clients where the contractor has performed the same or similar work.
