Location: Nashville, TN
Position: MicroStrategy Administrator
Due 6/19
Length 5 months+
Rate 33/hr
*Administer MicroStrategy*, utilizing the Windows 2005/2008 Operating
Systems, SQL Server 2005, 2008 and 2012, Oracle 10g & 11g and DB2.
Extensive experience with data warehousing is required. Reporting and BI
development experience is desired. Key componets include:
Administration of MicroStrategy environment for multiple
agencies as well as administrative, security & design support.
Analyze performance issues in different environments,
orchestrate tuning efforts with different groups
Understand Data Warehouse architecture and design on SQL
Server 2008, 2012, Oracle 10g & 11g and DB2
Participate in various initiatives like database
migrations.
Monitor and administer Microstrategy components, reporting
schedules and migrations.
Data modeling, cube design and reporting configuration for
SSAS and reporting hosted on SSRS on SQL Server 2012.
Perform upgrades, patches and installations of
MicroStrategy envorinments.
Provide ETL Support with disparate systems and ETL tools,
e.g.
5 within 7 years:
Required:
Thorough understanding of BI/Data Warehousing data concepts
Thorough understanding of SQL
Thorough understanding of reporting platforms and user
experience
Understanding of programming languages, e.g. C# or VB.NET
Hands on experience installing and configuring
MicroStrategy and/or comparable BI toolsets
Hands on experience of managing middle tier applications
including threading, database management and web configuration
Hands on experience tuning database objects, SQL, PL/SQL,
TSQL or equivalent
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-Motivator and works with limited supervision
Must be able to deliver quality and accurate work, provide
results, meeting or exceed deadlines, communicate with stakeholders
Must have worked in a 24x7 distributed environment.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with SQL Server/Oracle RDBMS
or equivalent
Preferred: 3 within 7 years
Experience with Windows Server Operating System
Experience with MicroStrategy Intelligence Server and Web
Server configuration and installation.
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science or engineering.
Advance knowledge of business process analysis, functional
specification
Experience working with and communicating with
cross-functional groups (development, qa, production, systems
administration)
Experience working with Microsoft Technical Support to
obtain diagnostic outputs and correct procedures
