This person will manage the vCenter, vCloud Director, vSheild Director, and related programs for the Enterprise Hosting team. This engineer must be well versed in configuration of these tools. The engineer will create new templates, build plans, and create sets of templates in vCenter and vCloud Director and will rapidly create dozens of systems at once. Scripting skills are highly valued for this position, especially shell and PowerCLI script. The engineer must have a deep knowledge of virtualization technology in the VMware space. They must understand the function of the hypervisor, how virtual networks operate, the difference between memory management on Windows using the bubble driver and Red Hat Linux not using it, the difference between thick and thin provisioning and when to use each, and similar advanced concepts. Experience with mutlipathing for NICs and HBAs, advanced RAID configuration, and some operating system in the virtual space is highly desired. The engineer must be able to work with other teams including Security and Networking team. They must work with multiple managed service providers to ensure their monitoring software is included in templates. The successful candidate will have excellent verbal communication and written documentation skills to work with customers to understand their requirements in a collaborative relationship. Intense customer service is a required part of the engagement. *The responsibilities for this position will be: * Responsible for template builds that will build hundreds of virtual servers that will run line of business applications. Response for advanced troubleshooting of Production issues that the managed service provider cannot resolve. Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor *Qualification Needed:*** Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field, or equivalent work experience. 8-10 years experience required Minimum of 3 years direct experience with VMware products At least 1 year of vFabric experience with the above listed products.
