*Responsibilities:*





§  Provide senior engineering leadership on all design and standards issues
including analysis, development, implementation, as well as training and
mentoring of technologies across the teams



§  Evaluate, test, develop, and implement complex technical solutions to
address a variety of business problems. This includes hardware, software,
configurations standards, and creating solutions with specific focus on
driving business value



§  Develop written procedures, engineering drawings, and other technical
documentation



§  Coordinate and direct preventative maintenance of major systems
components



§  Participate and lead the installation and/or changes of systems in
accordance with change management practices



§  Provide coverage for other team members as needed to ensure consistent
operations and customer support



§  Analyze technology specifications and requirements to determine if the
technology is compatible with our current standards and utilizes the most
efficient processes



§  Communicate to the general organization on the support efforts of
project related items



§  Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines



§  Solid working knowledge of storage platforms (Hitachi), networking,
telecommunications, and information security



§  Creation of automation using the various scripting technologies such as
WMI, WSH, ADSI and PowerShell or VB scripts for Server Provisioning, OS
Customization and Configuration, Deploying and Maintaining Windows IIS,
Patch Management and host hardening



§  Interconnected with development and testing staff to identify
requirements an implementation solutions



§  Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills and must possess a
structured, methodical approach to system administration



§  Follow standard change management and configuration policies



§  The tasks this individual is responsible are often unstructured and the
issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative
approaches



§  This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving
problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation



§  Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying
problems in advance, and proposing solutions



§  This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level
employees within the function, across functions and with external parties



§  The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter
expert



§  To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results
through regular leadership and influencing others



§  Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can
operate and drive results and set priorities independently



§  Ensure IT adherence to service level agreements regarding infrastructure
performance, limitations, and availability.



§  Provide Level-3 support and trouble-shooting to resolve issues impacting
infrastructure & application operations.



§  Analyze infrastructure systems performance, collect information, and
prepare summary reports.





*Knowledge and Skills Required:*





§  7+ years of experience with enterprise level server design and support



§  5 years of virtualization experience including both VMware and Microsoft
solutions



§  3 years of experience as a technical lead or architect



§  Deep technical expertise on Windows Server 2008, Active Directory, DNS,
and Exchange 2007/2010



§  Has a strong working knowledge of midrange management tools (VMware,
Citrix, Tivoli, NetBackup, Veritas Storage Management) and application
tools (Websphere, MQ, SQL Server, Oracle).



§  Extensive experience with infrastructure and server theories, principles
and concepts; application infrastructure and standards; networking
fundamentals; Windows; SAN storage systems; clustering (e.g. VCS, ZFS,
LVM); physical server architecture; Virtualization Technologies (e.g.
VMware, Solaris Zones) and LAN/WAN/Firewall/VPN network technologies.



§  Advanced knowledge in building Windows servers in a virtual ESX VMware
environment.



§  ITIL or other best practice methodology.





§  Familiarity with DR and high-availability architectures



§  Strong experience in the design of enterprise, high-volume, secure
systems and data center strategies



§  Strong communication and presentation skills to all levels of management
and stakeholders



§  Excellent interpersonal, verbal, leadership, organization and planning
skills



§  Positive attitude and ability to work through obstacles and roadblocks



§  Must be able to navigate through ambiguities and flexible to multi-task
changing priorities.



§  Strong detail orientation, follow-through capabilities and escalation of
key issues superior analytical and problem solving skills.



§  Strong ability to build partnerships and influence others that are not
in the direct sphere of control. With the ability to earn the respect of
technical personnel across application and infrastructure teams.





*Education/Requirements:*



§  Generally requires 7 to 10 years of directly related professional
experience and possesses deep technical abilities in one or more primary
products, programs or technologies.
