It’s old but that’s what the client needs. * * * *Phone then Face to face mandatory* *Principal Duties and Responsibilities *The Systems Designer primary responsibilities include design and implementation of software applications for MGH Operating Room (OR) environment, using .Net Framework C# (Visual Studio 2010), MSSQL 2008, Visual Basic 6 and Caché. The Systems Designer works with OR Development Team Lead and analytical staff to develop software to handle all aspects of OR Scheduling, PATA Scheduling, Nursing Documentation and all related applications. Position requires experience in various aspects of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), user requirement gathering, requirements and technical specifications documentation, analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation of Enterprise Level applications with N-tier Development Environment. The Systems Designer will take complete responsibility for assigned tasks from initial design through development and testing. S/he will work with other internal and external development groups for implementing interfaces and application services, and work with analysts and end users to diagnose problems, formulate, document and implement solutions. Participate in testing, deployment and support of the software in production. Produce documentation for implemented software. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, assertive and prepared to show a high degree of initiative. The Systems Designer is expected to work in a group as well as independently. S/he will be a major contributor in rewriting OR applications suite using Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0, MSSQL 2000/2008 and SOAP based Web Services. Knowledge of Mumps or Caché is a plus. Carrying a pager during business hours and participating in on-call rotation is a must.* Qualifications * • 5+ years Information Systems/Software Development. Thorough understanding of application development, including analysis, functional specification documentation, coding, testing, project management, and software development life cycle methodologies. • 5+ years of experience with and effectively applied object oriented design (OOD).
