Urgent Client Need PDW SQL Server DBA Location: Minneapolis, MN Duration: 12 Months Contract Exp Level: 10+ years
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills 1. Enterprise level experience with Business Intelligence projects 2. Must have worked with PDW SQL server 2012 environment 3. Design, creating and tuning physical database objects (tables, views, indexes) to support normalized and dimensional models. 4. Capacity Planning for new development 5. Disaster recovery management 6. Managing Multiple non production environment DB admin activities 7. Script promotion and Data recovery/refresh 8. Design and instantiation of the physical data model in the data warehouse / data marts. 9. Demonstrated analytical, technical, and communication capabilities 10. An understanding of Retail Reporting and/or Retail Concepts 11. Ability to prioritize assignments, handles shifting deadlines, and work independently as well as in a team environment. 12. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences. 13. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an understanding of existing and emerging technologies. 14. Ability to prioritize workload and work well under pressure to meet deadlines and manage business expectations. Desirable Technical / Functional Skills 1. Experience in SQL2012/2008R2/2008/2005/2000 administration and development 2. Experience in SQL Server BI (Business Intelligence) development and administration 3. Experience in SQL Server Parallel Data Warehouse (PDW) administration 4. Expertise in SQL Server environment Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, design, implementation and validation 5. Experience in administering Relational Data Warehouse sizing 6. Expertise in upgrade/migration from SQL 2000/2005 to SQL 2012/2008R2/2008 7. Experience in Windows 2008R2 Clustering and SQL 2008/2008R2/2012 Clustering 8. Experience in SQL-Replication, Always-ON, Log-Shipping and Mirroring technologies 9. Experience in performance enhancement, troubleshooting and tuning (Methodologies, Procedures and Tools) 10. Experience in SSIS package design, development, configuration, logging, deployment, troubleshooting, and management 11. Experience in SSRS report design, development, deployment and large scale SSRS site migration and management 12. Experience in SSAS cube development, deployment, partition management and maintenance 13.
